Who: My new hubbie Brian (27), along for the ride
Me, Renessa (24), planner extraordinaire
Day 1-
Monday, July 1st
We stayed at a nearby (5 min.) Sleep Inn, and called to see if our room was ready. They told me that we would have to be there to pre check-in and could not do it on the phone. So we packed up and headed to CBR. We werent really in a hurry since it was around 8A, and check-in wasnt until 4P. We were too excited to stop for breakfast, so we headed straight to CBR. The guard had our name, and we headed to the Custom House. After a short wait, we were called to the counter where we were told that they had been expecting us the night before, and that we would be charged. I told them about making a last minute (6 days prior) change, and they went to the back. A manager had them take off the charge for the night, and changed our reservation to the right one. She started to draw on the map towards Jamaica and I mentioned my request for Martinique. She said there was no record of that, and checked availability. She said that we could come back that afternoon and have our request, but that our Jamaica room was ready now. We took it!! We purchased etickets right away for Tuesday, and then went to the guest services window to pay for our Hoop Dee Doo tickets. I was disappointed to see table 13, but little did I know about their seating chart!
We parked in front of our building, Jamaica 43, and unpacked. I was sad to see nothing for our honeymoon, but to excited to think about it for long. Brian decided to take pictures before we messed anything up. After the unpack, we threw swim suits on and headed for a tour of the grounds. CBR is beautiful. We loved the themeing, the main pool, and Ole Port Royale. We grabbed a quick lunch at the food court, and headed back to the quiet pool. In order to get from Jamaica to Port Royale, you had to cross two bridges and an island. It had little coves that you could sit and watch everything around. Very romantic. The beach had chairs, lounges, and hammocks! After a swim, we headed back to the room to get ready for dinner.
We headed out early, and took a bus to MK. There, we hopped on the resort monorail and toured the Poly, GF, then back to the MK where we took a boat to WL. After a quick look, we boarded a boat to Fort Wilderness for the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. We checked in, got pictures taken (1 large and 2 wallets that are available for $20 during dinner), and were seated just after 7:15. The hostess led us towards the front, and asked who we knew to get those seats. It turns out that table 13 was lucky, and was a table for 2 front and center! We were thrilled!! Dinner was wonderful (no gourmet expectations). The ribs are beef, where we are accustomed to pork, but the chicken was wonderful. I asked our server for one more and she brought 3, which we quickly shared with a nearby table.
Enough about the food, the show was fabulous. We were recognized along with 2 other honeymoon couples- and were made to dance for everyone. Then the giggly blond (performer) made us kiss. If that wasnt embarrassing enough, she remember Brians name and used it throughout the show. Brian was beet red! They claimed that he was looking up the ladies skirts, and turned him red again. We had great interaction all the way to the end, and would love to return again in the future! A+++++
After the show, we boarded a boat to the CR to watch fireworks. While in the boat we were lucky enough to see (from 50 feet or less) the Electric Water Pageant. Then we headed to the observation deck of the Contemporary for a perfect end to our first day. We were able to point out Tinkerbelle to a nearby family who had young girls. Fantasy in the sky did not disappoint, and we delayed our return to CBR by taking the Monorail to Epcot and returning home from there.
