Ok, after suggestions here on the board I have looked into Embassy Suites as an option. We will be spending our last 3 nights off DW property and doing SW. I currently have the Renaissance Club level at $188 and can book either
Embassy Suites Buena Vista for $152 or Embassy Suites International Drive/Jamacia Court for $139.

Of these 3 which would you choose & why?

The players me, DW, DD13 & DD10.
We will spend 2 days at SW and then whatever.
The pool will get used by DD's for sure & probably me.
Breakfast and the managers :drinking1 will get used and enjoyed.

Pros & cons to the places, locations and nicest hotel.

Thanks, YO

Embassy Suites Buena Vista

it is pretty close to both WDW and SW.

You can probably make up the extra cost in the saving on your gasoline for your car.

Now I love the Renaissance - but we also get just a standard room.

spiceycat, you seem to be the one who is helping me alot.
Thank you. :goodvibes

How does the Renaissance stack up to these 2 places? Is it nicer for quality of hotel. Is it in good shape or is it starting to show it's age as many people have eluded (sp?) to? I think the BV one would be better because of the pool from the looks of the pictures on the website. How is the Renaissance compare?

Thanks, YO

when they upgraded the pool a couple of years ago - I really expect them to put in a slide for the kids. They didn't....

they are still treating it as a business hotel.

It has all the stuff of a business hotel - but for families going to the park - it doesn't have enough kid stuff. My opinion!!!

the embassy were designed with families in mind. I haven't stayed in the embassy in the WDW area. but the ones I have stayed in are pretty nice for the kids as well as the parents.

We've stayed at the Embassy Suites Buena Vista many times and love it. If we don't stay on Disney property, it's the only hotel we stay at (we've tried a few others out, but like E.S. the best). Besides a nice room and nice pool, we really like the cook to order breakfast and the head cook, Ed.

I took dh to the Renaissance last may for our 1 yr anniversary- chose it because of the club room and it's location. We loved the location and the breakfast buffet was wonderful(it was reasonable priced for orlando) but the rooms showed age and frankly we weren't impressed w/ the club room. other than a few snacks and soft drinks, we had to pay for drinks and I could have done that thru the bar or at the pool. The hotel was nice but I wouldn't pay extra for the club level again at all.

leight, thanks for telling me about the club level at the Renaissance. I have been a little worried about it.

It sounds like from the rest of you that the Embassy at BV may be the better alternative. I haven't heard of any others that have the same ammeneties as the Embassy for the same price range.

How far is it to SW from there?

Thanks, YO

if you go the I4 probably 10 minutes (might be more or less depending traffic).

back road (really, really close to you) around 7 minutes (probably less)
