Renae Lindgren came to my LSS this past week. She is beautiful, talented and a really nice lady. She and her assistant Amber came and gave us a wonderful class. We made 2 beautiful pages and got a lot of really great tips. I treated my DD-I-L to the class. She is still in the beginning stages of scrapping and was truly amazed at what she had accomplished. I have used a few of Renae's (Here I am on first name basis. lol) papers, but I am more of an earth tone type of person. After finishing my pages and the class, I had so many new ideas of how I could use her papers and stickers in future layouts.

If you get the opportunity, take any of the classes that are offered by the artist or company that makes the product.

I met Renea just before her first products hit the LSS. She was quite nervous and excited about seeing her line at the Great American Scrapbook Convention last year. She said her family hadn't even seen the products yet.

She was lovely and very down-to-earth. We asked for her autograph for our albums and she asked if we would come to her signing and she'd give us some freebies, because she was afraid no one would want to come and meet her. :D

However, her poor assistant Amber taught a disaster class at the GASC this year. It wasn't really her fault. She told them not to book more than 100 and they sent her the info that 125 were in the class. Then when she arrived it was like 165. There weren't enough supplies and people had paid $20 for the class. Many people were angry. The people that run that convention should be ashamed to do that to a teacher and the students, too. No one got refunds!

Amber was flustered and very upset. She'd hold up a piece of yellow paper and say "Get your green paper like this." It was terrible! I felt so sorry for her.

I do agree with chessie. (Glad your class was not overbooked!) It's fun to meet the artists. They are often very gracious and their ideas are fresh.
