Remy VS Palo

It depends on how long you want to linger over coffee. We finished in 2 hours.
My first Remy dinner was just hubby & me. We didn't dawdle when it came to the eating. They don't have to hold up courses for us. I'd say we added about 35-40 minutes to our meal chatting with the chef & other crew. (We sailed the day after the iPhone 5 released. Our server noticed it & was so excited to see it. He called over many others to see it. We thought it was endearing to see all the fuss & didn't mind at all.) All that said, our meal was over 3 hrs start to finish, probably closer to 3 1/2.

Second time having Remy dinner was with friends, I think 6 of us. Larger group always = slower meal. I don't really remember exactly how long that one was. I left furious beyond words so I don't really remember but that's a whole 'nother story for another day that had nothing to do with the meal itself or the service of the food. ;)

I'll echo pretty much everyone's sentiments. They're both good but very different. Remy is much more about the fine dining experience dining. We find that we're more Palo people but Remy is certainly worth the try if you're interested in that experience. I think previous suggestions to open up to the waiters is a good one. We got a great explanation how our definition of a "dry" wine has been wrong all along from the sommelier and some other hints. I wish I'd been more prepared to talk to the chef, I wasn't expecting it at all. I think he was disappointed that all we could really do was say how great the food and service was. I couldn't think of anything to ask him about.

We'd go back to Remy if there were something to celebrate perhaps but we seem to be more Palo people. I look forward to taking my DS (soon to be 18) to Palo in April. He would not be a Remy kind of person. ;)

When Chef Patric came out to speak to us the dining room was virtually empty. He sat & chatted with us quite a bit about various foods & cooking techniques. Interesting fella. Very personable & enjoyable.
Love Chef Patric! He looks like Disney called central casting and said "send us a French chef".

I know, right?! First time I spotted him at a distance I was thinking "Holy cow, they have a Chef Gusteau character greeting us!" Nope. That's really our chef!

What is the duration for dinner at Remy? We are thinking about having dinner there but wondering if we would be able to make the evening show, which I believe starts at 8pm.

The only time I've had a Remy dinner last less than 3 hours was the night I had to hurry up to get to a whisky tasting.
