Hi All,

We are going to be in HS next Monday. On Monday evening, EPCOT has the extended hours we plan to take advantage of. So, we will probably head to EPCOT in the afternoon after HS. If we do the virtual queue at 7:00, does it allow you to select your time? If not, should I wait until 7:05 to book hoping I can get a boarding pass? Also, from what I understand, we have to be inside EPCOT to take advantage of the afternoon Queue (this would be a little to early to leave HS).

You are assigned a boarding group. When that group gets called depends greatly on how the ride goes that day. It gives you an estimated time after you book, but it can very well change. If the ride breaks down, your call time will get pushed later and later. If you wait until 7:00:05, you will likely not get in, let alone waiting until 7:05.
You do not need to be IN Epcot at 1, but you need to have already scanned into the park for the day

You have to have a park reservation for Epcot in order to book the virtual queue at 7:00. My understanding is that so far the 7am slots are going in seconds so trying to get a later one would be really difficult.

ETA: You also have to be in the park, or at least scanned in earlier in the day, to get into the 1pm queue. Park hopping does not allow for entry until 2pm so you would have to hope that the slots are still open after 2.

No, you don't get to select a time, and if you wait until 7:05, you won't get any boarding group at all. You need to click Join right at 7:00:00 to have any chance.

Ah, there’s the rub, the park reservation….
