I have a beautiful pair of sandals...slip ons with kitten heels that match my dress and jewelry exactly for our dress-up dinner at Remy. I just looked at the dress code and it says no sandals. Do I need to start looking for closed-toe dress shoes? I swear every pair of dress shoes I have are open-toed, so I guess, technically sandals? I guess I could wear my "special" sandals, and have a pair of tacky shoes in my handbag in case they turn us away?

why wouldn't that be fine?? pretty shoes

I, too, was surprised to see that listed on the Remy dress code! But, your shoes are beautiful, and I would not call them sandals. Definitely wear them! I would love to know what prompted them to include that on the dress code.

Your sandals are beautiful. I believe they mean no flip flop type sandals or sandals on men

Have fun. You will look lovely.

Thank you! The dress code says no sandals. I love how the sandals match the beads perfectly (the beads are dated back to the 1930s)

Very cute. I'd wear them. I agree I think they don't want flip flops or men in sandals. Enjoy your night.

Just a note THEY ARE SHOES THEY ARE NOT SANDALS. They mean flip flops and the like. Enjoy your night out and dinner. BTW my wife has shoes like yours and we go to Palo with them and have never been questioned.

Thanks for the encouraging replies...I was afraid to start another dress code thread!! I'm going for it! I don't know why they'd have no sandals on the dress code either. Especially for women....most dress shoes for women in the spring/summer are sandals.

Right, no sandy beach sandals.

Trying to pack light, I thought my black Croc flip flops could pass for dress sandals. (I must have been out of my mind!) I packed a pair of dress sandals to wear once when I went to Palo.

There is a huge difference between beach type sandals and dressy shoes that happen to be open toe and backless. I wouldn't consider these "sandals" at all.

I have a pair of black dressy sandals that I wear on formal night (and other times ON the ship). No problem, ever, anywhere. But I haven't tried to take them to Remy's.

You're correct, they are not sandals. I would consider them to be more like a mule or a slipper (like Cinderella). When I think of sandals,I see flat, thong type shoes, hirachis and Birkenstocks.

Lovely shoes. Sandals do not have heels. IMHO I have a good friend who has arthritis in her toes and must wear sandals (no heels). I guess she would need a Doctor's excuse. :rotfl: So, what is the point in banning sandals, anyway.:confused3
Wear your "sandals"and enjoy your meal!:goodvibes

I agree with everyone that they are beautiful and I don't think that is what they are referring to when they say 'No Sandals'.

Very pretty shoes...I do not believe that I would classify them as sandals and if so I guess I would expect an explanation from Disney as to what the difference is in a sandal and a shoe. I would go for it, if they turn you away you can always return in your sneakers!!:rotfl2:

I agree, they are not sandals, they are strappy shoes! Wear them and enjoy your time at Remy! Can't wait to hear about it...hoping for a ressie when we sail our b2b next year!

I agree, those are strappy shoes and are perfectly fine for a dressy dinner. I'm sure it's difficult for them to specify EXACTLY what they mean but there are plenty of people I know who think their flip flops & sandals are dressy just because the strap has something sparkly on them. :sad2:

I have a couple of pair of the Lindsay Phillips Switch Flops - one pair has a kitten heel similar to yours that I can put dressy straps on and get by wearing with some (but not all) dresses since they have a heel and then I have another pair with a wedge-like black foam sole - I can put a dressy strap on those too but I wouldn't wear them as if they were dress shoes. With the right strap / outfit they'd be OK with capris or a sundress for cruise casual night or something but I wouldn't wear them on formal night or to Palo...

Honestly, that rule is usually for MEN... We used to belong to a country club & the main dining room required this list of things, *including closed toe shoes,* and it was ALL directed at the men. Women can pretty much wear whatever, especially with a heel.

Not sure why, but most dress codes address men for the most part, in my experience...
