Removing Stickies

AlexandNessa, post your thread over on the resort board and I'll sticky it. We can always add the parking info to it after it is stickied.

Ok, I did. And if anyone has anything to add, please feel free as I did the post pretty quickly. :)

we do get about 10 new threads weekly with the same questions on some of those topics........if you make them a sticky, do you think they will be read?
Probably not but it sure would be easier for us to find the thread and then copy and paste the info. About once every couple of weeks, I go looking for my meal deal menu post. You'd think I'd be smart enough just to bookmark it to save myself time and energy.

Bingo! Now that its stickied it is easier for us to find, not the people that should have read it in the first place.

People asking the same questions over and over is the reason I made my web pages. Thing is, the questions are asked a little different each time, which means a different answer.

Unfortunately, we can't put a sticky that links to another website unless that website links back to the DisBoards.

Remember that whenever anyone new asks a question, we can't just say "See the sticky." We need to answer the question either ourselves or from a copy and paste from the sticky. Then you can say for example: "For more information you can see this link at the top of the page." The sticky can be a starting place in answering a question but, with all of your expert experience, we can always elaborate and gear the answers to fit each individual question.

I think a sticky may help us all answer the questions but is not the only way questions should be answered. If that were the case, we could have the board just run by Bots. It would get very boring with that.

Thanks for adding this bit of info. :) I frequent another planning site for non-Orlando trip planning. On that site, they have "local experts" instead of mods. One particular city's board has a so called "expert" that answers almost every question by posting a link to another site for people to read themselves. That's it! That's his whole answer! I drives me crazy. :bitelip: I haven't even visited the city yet, but find myself trying to help people through the limited knowledge I've gained in my research. IMHO, that type of post is better left unwritten.
