I believe they close at nine, as it was in the middle of a hockey game I was watching! A group of us watched through the screens while they were cleaning up, before we headed to Victoria Falls lounge. I am not sure what time they open, sorry! They do make some great drink concoctions. Be sure to try a nyami, nyami! They also do kid frozen drinks, along with the "mickey" which is just a shirley temple, boy style!

There is a menu, but it is part of the room service menu which includes room service prices and add-ons. There are bag snacks you can buy there, w/o the add-on prices. Mara is a very VERY quick walk to the pool and if you want value I would purchase some food there and ask for it to-go which will give you better packaging. Mara and the pool are on the same level, with the entrance to mara being right at the beginning of the pool area.

The kiddie pool area is even closer to Mara than the pool bar is! You'll have plenty of options!

You may use your room key to pay for your purchases at any of the areas.

I just got back from AKL last night. The pool bar closed at 10. Funny story about that pool bar - I have been waiting to get a drink and sit by that pool since I made our reservation in Feb. I don't drink all that much, but it just seemed like fun, a tropical drink by the pool! This was a girls only trip for my DD (9) and I. Our first night we went for a swim, and I told her I was going to have a drink. "With ALCHOHOL?" she gasped. Yes, my little one, sometimes I occaisonally have a drink! Anyway, I stayed in the water with her so long that the bar closed, and I missed my drink. Well, she felt so bad for me! The next night it was 11 by the time we got to the pool - bar closed again. She was really worried now - "But, Mommy, you really wanted your drink!" I told her relax - not the end of the world if I don't get a pina colada. Next day, we hit the pool around 2:00 - bar is open. The kid is begging me to have a drink. Well, I don't generally drink in the afternoon, not that I have a problem with drinking in the afternoon, just not that appealing to me. I offered to get us both ice cream - "No, Mommy, you have to have your drink, thats your treat!" Long story short - I HAD to have that drink - for my little girl!

Cute story! I'm also looking forward to a refreshing Pina Colada there this July!

Try the African Sunburn, it is very good. I don't remember what was in it. Just try it you'll like it.
