Remote work, Part time. Ideas?

I am looking for creative ideas for part time work.

I have a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master's degree in financial planning. My work experience has been as a financial counselor for the military,
but with covid, my work has dried up. I need to stay with part time because I help my elderly parents out at times.

Aside from starting a new company, I'm struggling with ideas for part time work. Has anyone found something part time where you can work remotely? I signed up to be an online tutor, but even with a master's degree and 14 years working as a substitute, they said I was not qualified.

Do temp agencies still exist?

Yes, temp agencies still exist. They vary widely in the types of jobs they fill, so do research on the ones in your area.

Yes, temp agencies exist. My company only source from temp agencies and through places like Upwork. Through Upwork though in most cases you would need to be at least an LLC so may not work for you since you don’t want to start a business. Many PT remote jobs in our area requires in office work on occasion also.

With a master's you should be able to teach a few courses at a community college - journalism or personal finance. Or at a high school. Tax time is coming and tax preparers often hire seasonal help if you know basic personal tax stuff. If you know basic accounting, some small CPA firms hire people to basically do bookkeeping for their smaller clients.

This is exactly what I was going to suggest. I teach remotely for a community college (and have since 2009) and we require a master's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 18 graduate-level hours in the discipline you plan to teach.
