Has anyone here done their planning session over the phone? Between now and our wedding, DF and I are pretty much strapped for time and if possible we'd like to avoid having to fly to the 'World before the wedding. Any suggestions?

P.S. Everyone on this board has been an amazing help with plans so far. I think I'd have gone crazy already if it weren't for the Dis'ers =)

Welcome!

We did our planning session over the phone and our wedding is in 11 days. It is a great substitute for actually going down to Disney and your planner will cover EVERYTHING with you. Anything you need pictures of he/she will email it to you.

I do suggest, just as others here suggested to me, that you prepare a document (especially for Disney Floral) with as many pictures as you can find that portray your vision for your wedding. You can email it to your planner before the session so that when you describe things, they will have a point of reference.

It is hard having to choose food and cake without being able to taste it. So a part of me is still a tiny bit worried. But I do feel very comfortable with the decisions I made based on seeing the pictures and comments from everyone else's Planning Session TR's. Those TR's are so incredibly helpful.

Good luck!

I also did phone planning sessions because of the boards we know what we wanted so it was really easy. Food was our main problem but I looked at the reviews and pictures on the dining section and that really helped.

We've been to the California Grill and since I was told the menu options would be similar it should be an easy choice in that regard!

We will prob only do the site visit. Were a bit worried because we know that june is a hard month but we are praying for our date (its when my grandparents got married to it means alot) And we really dont have the money to keep flying back and forth since we are in the process of renovating and IKEA is now my bank (except they dont give me money...igive it to them lol)

When we planned our DL weding we had numerous "meetings" with our planner over the phone as well as in person. We just made sure the send/email as many pictures as posible to try to relay what our desires were. As others have said, take confidence in Disney. As long as you provide details of what you desire things should go just fine.

Well if the wedding coordinator is near as responsive as the sales coordinator then I know I'll be in good hands. I'm amazed my sales coordinator hasn't placed my e-mail on blacklist yet. I've got 10 new questions for her everyday. On top of that we're always changing which hotels we want to stay in! =P

I just sent my sales contract in and I'm told this is where the fun will really begin. We've yet to get into any 'details' of the wedding outside of the reception reservation.

We did ours over the phone and so far its worked out fine. Our wedding is in 24 days, so I wont know till then how great it was. But I feel fine about not having an in-person planning session.

This was a good thread. I thought I would be able to go down to Disney for my planning session but me and the DF can't make it.
