I had not realized you could do the remote airline check-in if you had a rental car and were not doing ME, but there was a nice flyer about it in our rooms and after reading it and getting excited, I called to confirm.

Our last morning we got our boarding passes printed for us and checked our 3 pieces of luggage at 7 AM. We then drove to the MK for our 8:05 Crystal Palace breakfast with just our carry-ons in the trunk, and left about noon to hit the Belz outlets before going to the airport. It was so awesome to skip the lines at the airport and go straight to boarding, and of COURSE our luggage did show up when we finally arrived home! This has got to be the best perk EVER.

I'm interested too!

If you're flying on a particapating airline, you can check in at your resort. We were flying TED (United) in May. Although my daughter and I used ME to the Polynesian, my husband and DS2 picked up our rental car. On the return trip, we checked in at BC, got our boarding passes and dropped our luggage. It is indeed very sweet.

BTW, the woman at the ME counter at MCO insisted we would not be able to do this. I checked at both the BC and YC ME checkin spots before our last day to make sure we could do this and both places told me we could. The info on ME that someone (I think Horace) found for groups explained that this was possible.
Thanks, Horace...if it was you! ;)

I'm not the OP, but I'm trying to read the minds of the previous posters asking the OP the airline she used and the resort she stayed at.

If she flew on a DME "participating airline" AND she stayed at a WDW resort (excluding the Swan, the Dolphin, the hotels on or near Hotel Plaza Boulevard and Shades of Green) she was entitled to use the Resort Airline Check-in service on the way back home. As far as I know, the "participating airlines" are American, Delta (including Song), Continental, and United (including Ted). Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotel, the hotels on or near Hotel Plaza Boulevard and Shades of Green.

Here's that info again...

Disney allows you to use Resort Airline Check-in without riding back to the airport on a Magical Express coach.

Great info, Horace and thanks again! :cool1:

I did this recently with Delta. However, it did confuse the check in guy since I did not want to check bags. (I was there for one night... did carryon!)

I also did it on DL during the "soft opening" where I did give them my luggage. Worked great!
