I have a large bathroom with a whirlpool tub and a fiberglass shower stall and dated vanity. Its a large area. I have a half closet to the right of the vanity from the vanity top up, and the shower is adjacent to that at a right angle. I want to remove the shower stall and have a tiled shower built. It would be a decent sized shower, about 4 feet deep and certainly acceptable. I have been pricing glass shower doors. They are expensive and double the price of what I expected. That is one option. The other option is to remove the half closet and put a tower type cabinet in between the two sinks on an 8 ft vanity which would hold the stuff (medicine cabinet stuff) that I have in the closet, make the shower 7 ft deep with a solid wall that drops down to a half wall and eliminate the need for a glass shower door. The advantage? 1. I would save $$$ on a shower door. 2. I wouldn't have the hassle of keeping a clear shower door clean. We have stayed in two hotels with this type of shower. Anyone have any ideas.
