Hi everyone,
Just wanted to pop in and say G'day. Years ago, I was a work-exchange student to Australia and I ended up loving it so much, I stayed 9 years. . . In all my international travels, I have to say Aussies are some of the friendliest people I have encountered. I lived on a cattle property in central Queensland, quite different from Northwest Minnesota, USA. . .
My 2 DDs were born there. Every time I traveled around Australia, I met people who offered their advice & homes & friendships. I have been back to the USA for 4 years now and miss the people (although I am happy to be on my native soil again).
My DDs spend their summers (June-August) with their dad in Queensland. I have to get them over there somehow every year. Next year, 2012, I plan on taking them myself (I get family/friends to travel with them sometimes). Besides visiting friends, I would love to see a working sugarcane farm (my family farms sugarbeets so I am interested in that stuff) in Queensland. I have not been fortunate enough to meet anyone who works/owns one in my travels. Does anyone have any suggestions? I wouldn't mind a commercial operation but would prefer something more family-type, as the Aussie culture is such that I love meeting & interacting with family operations as opposed to "tourist attractions".
I can provide credentials & references upon request
. . .
Thanks in advance! In return, I can provide "snow" attractions suggestions and farming operations in Northwest Minnesota for those interested in traveling to my neck of the woods. . .
