This applies regardless of the airline. You should check at least every other week if not weekly.

We purchased our tickets for Delta for our July trip 2/5. I happened to look today at my googleflights search (yes, I know I shouldn't) and saw there was no longer a price. So I go on Delta's website. Our reservation is still listed, but the flights (departure nor return) aren't listed when you search. In our reservation, the seat assignments are gone also and when you try to select them, no seat map is available.

I'm guessing the flight is cancelled, but waiting to contact Delta (phone call this morning said it was a 5 hour wait, and online chat was over an hour). I'll try again tomorrow.

I already have alternative flights picked out both from the original airport (about 90 minutes away) and from our home airport (30 minutes away). I figure I'll ask if they'll move us to the home airport, and the worst they can say is "no".

Oh yea, no email notification as of yet of changes.

Oh Delta. for Delta:

Delta is a infamous for their Schedule Change Saturdays. And sometimes Schedule Change Sundays. If you look at your account you’ll see the changes before they even tell you. If I’m worried about a DL flight I try to check every Sunday on it.

That way I always saw the changes before the email even arrived.

The only change (currently) is our seats (that I chose at booking) are unassigned. Now, I fully expect in the next day or two we'll be put onto new flights, but I already have alternates picked out ready to take a stab at changes.

Just FYI Delta will do flight changes Sat night to Sunday Morning. On Sunday morning you should see what changes they made. Sometimes if you don't see a seat map, they may be changing your plane to a different style/seat map which will just adjust your seats in the AM. It could be them adjusting your times or just changing your flight number. I always check my flights Sunday AM to see if anything has adjusted. I would hold tight. Your flight probably isn't cancelled just being adjusted.

We also have a flight on Delta in July and if you search on their app, it looks like ours is adjusting just 20 minutes sooner. Our seat map is unavailable and it says we are unassigned (we had seats) If you look at the flight now on the app after attempting to book, it shows a seat map and our seats blocked, so I am guessing in the AM tomorrow our seats will be back to assigned to us and a schedule change of 20 min sooner.

Using their website, there is a flight ~45 minutes later, but it's a different flight number.

Just checked on the app and the same thing... there's a flight that's 45 minutes later, but a different flight number. *THAT* flight has eight seats not blocked in main cabin, 12 "preferred" (not *my* preference) and a bunch of Comfort+. Maybe I can talk them into upgrading us all (6) to Comfort+? :D

are the seats you had booked before blocked off now? They may have just moved you. Did that flight exist before? That may be your flight which was just adjusted.

My guess is once it goes through tonight, all of those seats may not be blocked. I doubt they will upgrade you for free.

I had the same issue with United. We fly out Monday morning. Checked earlier this week and all 5 seats were the same when we booked in October.

Checked today and we were all separated. Flight did not change at all still same departure.

On hold for over 2 hrs to try and get us back sitting together. Best we could get was 2 and 3 together.

Only positive is we moved from row 34 to rows 7 and 15.

So, interesting. As expected, I log in today and get the note "There has been a time change affecting your trip. The updated itinerary is below". Well, the updated itinerary has new flight numbers, our seats restored, BUT listed at the same times we originally booked. When searching for flights, the new flight numbers have new times (about 50 minutes later for each flight).

After a flight change on us, I was told by an agent that schedules aren’t set until 6 weeks before your flight, so keep checking. I think if your times change over some specified time period (can’t recall how long), you can adjust your flights at no add cost. If your airline allows you to make changes online, I’d do that first. We’ve been able to get credits for some flights I changed myself. If in checking, the new flights cost more, I’ll call in and have an agent make the change at no additional cost.

With Delta, I'm pretty sure it needs to be an hour change. Right now, it's sitting at about 45-50 minutes.

If you acknowledge the change the times will adjust. That just happened for me. That is NOT typical, usually it shows the new times before you acknowledge, but you can always do a free change after acknowledging if necessary.

For the record, I got email notifications (both work & home email) today from Delta detailing the change.

The Delta website & app both show the new times.

I hope the return flight changes again enough that I can grab an earlier flight with no charge. :)
