As we are 2 days away from approaching the permanent closure of "Mickey's Toontown Fair" I thought it would be appropriate to start a tribute thread.

I would like this thread to be dedicated to sharing your favorite memories, stories, and pictures of Toontown!

Toontown was very dear to my heart because the Barnstormer was my first rollercoaster. As a young kid in the late 1990's, most of my days at the MK were spent in Toontown.I remember taking bathroom breaks at "Pete's Garage" and being in awe of the gas pump. I remember my dreams coming true and meeting my favorite characters in the "Judge's Tent" and purchasing a souvenir stuffed animal. An the thrill of avoiding to get wet while running around on "Donald's Boat". Being a 17yr. old, I never knew it as "Mickey's Birthdayland" or "Mickey's Starland." That area will always be "Mickey's Toontown Fair" to me!! Thanks for the memories!!!

We received our Year of a Million Dreams mouse ears exiting Mickey's Country House in August 2008, still have 'em.

Toontown is where my then DD2 met Mickey and Minnie for the very first time. It was very cute - she was afraid of Mickey (actually she was afraid of all male characters back then) but jumped right into Minnie's open arms for a hug. Definitely going to miss Toontown.

Goofy's Barnstormer was my DD's first Disney rollercoaster.
When she was young she would ride it over and over.

The highlight was the time she got to be the first to ride Barnstormer one morning. Goofy walked her to the ride and rode it with her. She was so excited- I'm so grateful that she got to do that!

acjo68, That is AWESOME!!!!

Barnstormer was my son's first coaster. Sad b/c when we go in March, I don't know if DD will be tall enough for any other coasters and the Barnstormer won't be there for her.

i'm going to miss mickey and minnie's houses the most. i love exploring them and looking at all the detail. there have been a few nights when i've had them all to myself and i'd just look around. dbf and i have some nice shots of us being cute in the houses. i also love meeting mickey and minnie out there. our christmas shots from last december are great. they made a big fuss over dbf and i celebrating our 3rd anniversary together and we got some awesome pictures of the 4 of us

We are going the last week in Feb. and I didn't realize it was closing already. Will they still have the tent to meet the princesses opened...or are they moving that somewhere else?? My kids loved the minnie and mickey houses too!!
Thanks!

was gonna post some memories but is too teary eyed at the moment

My DD12 would have loved to ride Barnstormer with Goofy. She is going to tell him this June that she wishes they weren't redoing his ride.

Dd is never happier than when with Mickey and Minnie. When we were there in August, we got to rd at toontown planning to see the fairies first since they always have such a long line. Those plans changed as soon as dd saw Mickey at the end of the road waving. She couldn't contain herself and ran to him and right into his arms. She was then given a private tour of his house by Mickey himself! He showed her all around and was bry proud of his garden. We spent about 15 minutes touring before we made it to the tent where Minnie was waiting for her. BEST Magical moment EVER!

I'll miss the morning when we opened the Magic Kingdom. We were escorted over to Toon Town on the back of a fire truck with the park all to ourselves. A CM took my daughter's autograph book and said he'd be right back. While we were getting some pictures, Pluto popped up in the front window of Mickey's house. He came out and was followed by Mickey, Donald, Daisy, Stitch, Snow White, Alice, Mary Poppins, and Bert. We took a great group shot in front of Mickey's house then boarded the train for the opening ceremony. I'll always remember Toon Town being completely empty for one morning - except for our family and our Disney character friends:cool1:
