There's an article in today's NYT about a new timeshare at 66th & Broadway. Sounds like they have plans to expand to other cities but right now it's just this one building. They don't deal with points but you do call and book "subject to availability" with the possibility of getting a larger unit than you purchase (buy a one-bedroom, get a two-bedroom). I won't go into all the details but the one thing that stood out....

purchase price for a share of a one-bedroom $225,000. Annual Dues approx. $6,000.

One thing I really like is that they will store your clothes and then bring a rolling closet to your unit. Now, I could live with that! No suitcases just hop down to DVC any old time.

Gee, sounds like a bargain. I'll take 2 weeks worth!

Even at the full Disney price of $72/pt that would get you 3,125 points!!! I don't know about you but I could probably squeak by with 3,125 points a year.

Yes, I remember when they were talking about DVC in Manhattan. Just the idea thrilled me. A quick trip to see a show or museums or shopping or all three! I live on Long Island and it would be great to have DVC so close! The one mentioned in the NYT sounds way too pricey for me! ;)
