I always got hosed when it came to going to Disney as a kid. Many promises, but they were never delivered

My dad was out of the country a lot for business--this was during the 80's when mergers and acquisitions was the big deal career. The worst let down EVER was when I had to pick between a trip to Spain for language class (with the c-u-t-e boy who later became my Dh) or...yeppers...a trip to Disney---I chose Disney over the cute boy and Spain--which for a junior in high school is a big deal
And guess what--hosed again--I didn't go to Disney, and that was my last chance for a family vacation trip of my dreams
Fast-forward a tad and that aforementioned cute boy equals db...during our senior year in college then db (but really Df

) brought up going to Disney for our spring break trip

I'm in...we planned and financed the whole thing ourselves (hello debt, tips from waiting tables only got us so far

)
But it was all going to be worth it...
Once we got there...and we crossed onto main street...my Df who had visited MANY times during his youth and was a Disney freak was all gushing about how great the magic and wait till we...
"Where are all the roller coasters and stuff, how about the games and everything...so they have all the big-big rides in a different place"
This was all from me. I thought he was going to
Remember, folks, I had gotten hosed all those years and was still young and didn't know of the magic...but it didn't take me long to discover it--that same day something happened and I KNEW I was hooked forever.
We Disneymooned there in 1999 and have gone back every year since. I can't wait to take my children there (when we have some

) so they don't have to go through what I did--woo-hoo
