Well, a thought on naming girls non-traditional, unisex names was that then, when they get to be an adult, their resume wouldn't automatically be shunted aside because they were female. I remember one time I got a higher grade on an assignment because the professor misread my name as "Dan" rather than what is actually is. I am not sure why that would be--the actually course was educational theory for math and science teachers. I should have let the professor continue to think I was a guy until the end of the term, although I still got my A in the course.
