For all of you DL experts out there...:)

In the music for the Remember: Dreams Come True fireworks there is a song after the Pirates of the Caribbean section, just after the "wishes, dream a dream, wishes, celebrate..." and right before the BTMRR section that my DD thinks is the song "Shenandoah".

If you have the CD, it's 10:30 into the track.

Is that the name of the song? Does anyone know which attraction or show this music is from? Is there a recording of the entire song available somewhere?

I have looked and researched all over trying to find out about this song and I've come up with nothing :sad2:

Any info or help will be very appreciated! Thanks!

It is Shenandoah. It's not from any attraction, but it fits with the Mark Twain/Rivers of America section perfectly. It's a classic American song (my favorite one actually, though I don't know all the lyrics). From what I heard when an opera singer (male, but the name escapes me) performed it on Good Morning America some time back it's about a white man who falls in love with a Native American woman and he's actually singing the song to her father, Shenandoah. The lyrics, at least for the first verse are (as I remember them):

Oh Shenandoah,
I love your daughter,
(Ok, can't remember the next few lines, but the last couple are:)
We'll run away
We'll run away
Along the wide Missouri.

Along the wide Missouri is referring to the Missouri River.

Jen is right about the source and background of the song. What I understand is that when they created the Rivers of America, they took a sample from all of the great American rivers and poured them in to symbolize its source. When I first heard the song during the fireworks, I did not get the connection to the

Rivers Of America. I thought it might connect somehow with the Mark Twain Riverboat. So I was partly right.

Here are the lyrics according to http://www.lyricsfreak.com/w/waterboys/oh+shenandoah_20145425.html

Oh, shenandoah, I long to hear you
Look away, you rollin river
Oh, shenandoah, I long to hear you
Look away. were bound away
Across the wide missouri

Now the missouri is a mighty river
Look away, you rollin river.
Indians camp along her border
Look away. were bound away
Across the wide missouri

Well a white man loved an indian maiden
Look away, you rollin river
With notions his canoe was laden
Look away, were bound away
Across the wide missouri

Oh shenandoah, I love your daughter
Look away, you rollin river
It was for her Id cross the water.
Look away, were bound away
Across the wide missouri

For seven long years I courted sally
Look away, you rollin river
Seven more years I longed to have her
Look away, were bound away
Across the wide missouri

Well, its fare-thee-well, my dear,
Im bound to leave you
Look away you rollin river
Shenandoah, I will not deceive you
Look away, were bound away
Across the wide missouri

oh my gosh! I LOVE that arrangement...I will fast forward it and rewind it just to get to that part...there is only one other arrangement of that song that I have heard that brought me to tears...its awesome :lovestruc
