remaining magic band question

Greetings. I hope this is the best place to post this question. We've been away from WDW for a few years so the whole magic band/FP+ thing is all new to us. We are learning. I have one remaining question that I'm not sure about.

We will be staying onsite but arriving at MCO at 6am. We planned to go directly to the parks. We have the basics set up on My Disney Experience and have the resort reservation made (May). I will soon be adding our park tickets and making FP+ reservations when the 60 day windows open up.

My question is, should we plan to go directly to the resort first (8am) to check in? Or, will our magic bands automatically be "activated" to allow us to use them for:

1)parking
2)admission
3) FP+ reservations.

which would allow us to checkin at the resort later in the day?

Complete online checkin prior to your arrival and select the earliest arrival time. Then head straight to the park on the day you arrive.

You should not need to go to the resort at all.

If you do the online check-in, you'll be automatically checked in.
