I'm thinking about relocating myself in Orlando.

Anybody can give me inputs regarding housing, tax, living expenses, job availability (I'm working in both marketing and music production)

Should this thread be located somewhere else, I apologize.

I can't answer your questions but I can bump this back to the top of the list :)

I'm sorry I can't help, but please let me know what you find out.
I'm only about a year behind you:D

Quite unfortunately the info from that thread are leaning towards Florida in general, not Orlando specific.

I hope somebody can help me with that.

Also, how about teaching job there? Is it difficult to get a teaching job there? I have a DMus and BBA (Internet Publicity) and I used to teach at Yamaha Music School for 10 years. Will that make it easier for me to get a job or the opposite? (In Canada I have to hide my degrees in order to get a job)

Some of the post here are geared Orlando. That is where I am planning to move. I am trying to get as much infos as I can regarding Florida in general and as well as Orlando. I hope you will get the answer you need to your question. Good luck with your moving. :)

Fantasia, you're the original poster for that thread, right?

I'm also sick and tired of winter in Toronto and the fact that "stupidity and hardwork" tend to be more rewarded than "intelligence and smartwork" (not saying that I'm intelligent, it's just the corporate culture in Toronto seems to be like that).

If I end up moving to Orlando, it will be me first and my daughter comes later.

Yes, I am the original poster. So far I am getting some good feed back. Not just the Pros and Cons..but the actuall moving in my situation. I am a young widow with 2 children trying to make a big change which is moving to Orlando. DIS Friends are also giving me some advice and some things to think about. I am afraid of changes and they are just trying to help me out.

I have a trip coming up in May and bringing my kids with me so they can see their new schools, so I can enroll them and so I can find the apartment too. Then once everything goes well...and I hope smoothly...then we will move there in July.

Yes...I am tired of snow! 25 year of my life...I am just sick of the cold weather and driving in the snow and ice is no picnic either. I wish you luck and I hope someone here on the DIS board can answer your questions... :)
