Relocating to New Orleans

DD is graduating from college. She is accepting a job at the Children’s Hospital in New Orleans. She wants to live near. Is anyone familiar with the city, and can you give advice on neighborhoods that are safe? I understand Nola has crime issues, as does every large city. I would be asking this question no matter which city she was headed to.

We have been there as tourists. But relocating is a completely different way of looking at a city.

She will need an apartment for herself and her boyfriend who is moving with her. They will each have their own car.

Any advice is appreciated.
