hello -
not anytime soon..but eventually (maybe 6-8 years from now) - I'm considering relocating to central fla...must.get.closer.to.the.mouse...

can anyone point me towards some reliable info on communities?

thanks!

we are looking to relocate in 3-5 years also. since we will both still be working, my company has an office in Jacksonville. I just went to the company directory and looked up someone with my same job but in FL. Sent an email and asked them about it. They have sent me a bunch of great info. I would try that route if you are still working.

any links you could share?

thanks

I live on the west coast but say one day I might move to Ctl FL.
If you are looking for nice communities not too far from Disney, try these cities:
Mount Dora (lovely, lovely, lovely), Winter Park, & Clearmont.

All are around 30 min or less to Disney and have nice communities.

Clermont, Winter Garden, Dr. Phillips, and Windermere. And of course there is Celebration.

I was going to suggest you PM starbox, but I see she already found you. :goodvibes

There are lots of great areas in Florida. I highly recommend being closer to water if you can - it really helps with the stifling heat. You'll want to consider factors like schools if you have kids. I'd suggest narrowing down your choices to a couple of areas and spending a few weeks there. Vacation Rentals By Owner (VRBO) has lots of short term rental homes throughout Florida that can help give you a real sense of whether or not you'd like to live in a given area.

the villages has it all! http://thevillages.com/ one hour to the mouse!

and you don't have to be 55 yrs old to live there! it is disney for adults - or as my friend describes it - a cruise ship that never docks!

come for a lifestyle visit before you decide to relocate!

am not affiliated with the villages except that we own a home there and we love to spend out winters there!
