Hi!

I just returned from the Magic's 4-night cruise.

Well...The seas were a bit rough to say the least.

I had purchased a ReliefBand for seasickness (just in case!). The ReliefBand is like a watch that delivers a small electrical impulse to the inside of your wrist.

I had already tried Sea Bands, looking at the horizon, etc. and nothing was working.

When I put the ReliefBand on, it worked within 10 seconds. I was amazed and had no problems afterwards. Although it was a bit pricey, around $75, I would have gladly paid double when I was feeling sick.

Hope this helps someone on a future cruise!!!

I was on the 8/28 Magic and used the relief bands on the very rough sea day - day 10. I also took Bonine, but I felt immediate relief with the Relief band. People were pretty sick on the Magic that day!

I have never heard of Relief Bands. Where do you purchase them?

I have always had motion sickness issues, but was fortunate not to have a problem on our first cruise in October 2002. However, I am planning on taking something this next time, just in case.

Thanks for the info!

disneysooz - I bought it at drugstore.com for about $70 but if you do a google search a few other places sell them too.

Can you purchase them on the ship? (If so, how much?). I'd like to know they were available as a "last resort"

Thanks for the info!

They sell them at some drugstores, but here is the link to them at drugstore.com -

It does work, but it takes some getting used to. You put some gel on your wrist under the band and it basically gives you a little (or not so little) electrical zap every couple seconds. This stimulation helps relieve motion sickness, or maybe it just makes me forget I'm queazy as I brace for the next zap. :scared1: You can adjust the zap level, but the lower settings don't work for me. I always wear the patch and in rough seas I turn to ReliefBand for a little extra help. I have loaned it to kids on snorkel trips and it did work for them on the lower settings. It's water resistant, but you can't wear it while swimming/bathing. IMO, it's worth the price if you're prone to motion sickness.

I bought mine at CVS pharmacy. I didn't see any for sale on the ship.

I was completely suprised by how quickly it started working and I had no problems with it. It delivers a small shock to your wrist and makes your palm and fingers tingle (like they fell asleep). If you use one, make sure you place it correctly. You should feel the tingling in your middle and ring fingers. If you feel it in your thumb or pointer finger, it means that the band is placed incorrectly.

It was worth the money when the ship was rocking!

I bet it was worth the money! Thanks so much for the information!
