I would love to get some decent coffee (in or near each of the parks-even a hotel w/monorail transportation) in a relaxing setting while the little ones nap in their strollers? This would prob happen after lunch.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

I think I have read on the boards here that a restaurant at the Poly (Kona I believe) you can get nice coffee there, and also in a press pot if desired. It's a beautiful resort as well, so I am sure you can find a nice relaxing place to sit and enjoy your coffee!

-Kona Coffee Bar at the Poly (crazy hours, check ahead)

-Contemporary Grounds at the Contemporary Resort

-Afternoon Tea at the Garden View Tea Room at the Grand Floridian (done this twice with a sleeping child, they can accommodate a stroller) Tea begins at 2pm ADRs are a must!

-Just discovered The Writer's Shop at DHS this last trip. DH and DS5 went to see the stunt show while I enjoyed a good latte and flipped thru some books while DS2 napped. Very quiet little book shop. The PERFECT spot to enjoy a cup of coffee. Nice big comfy chairs in the back too. Heard the carrot cake cookie is to die for, now I have to go back to try it! :rotfl:

Wanted to say ditto on these recommendations. They're spot on.

This is on my list too! I think I will eat one there and get an extra to eat for breakfast the next day. (It has carrots in it, that means it would be a healthy breakfast, right?) :goodvibes

Now I have an even better excuse...My hubby LOVES carrot cake! Thanks!

I will be printing out the details f the thread and organizing them by park.

I would also suggest the Grand Floridian Tea Room. I've never been there so I cannot tell you what its like. But it looks very relaxing and quiet. From pictures at least.

:thumbsup2 Writer's Workshop! And the carrot cookie is insanely good. I can't wait to have another!

Ditto on carrot cake at writers shop. my MIL makes world famous (or we think so :) carrot cake and this one is just as good! Would go well even with bad coffee!

P.S. Please do check hours for Kona cafe. Rode the Monorail over to have coffee there at last trip just because I had heard such wonderful thingsd about it but it was closed! Middle of the day! Oh well, next trip!:)

where is this? All the times we've been to DHS and I have no idea where this is?

It is kind of tucked away.Look for it on the map. It is definitely nice, quiet, relaxing, and cool. They have other treats, but the carrot cake cookie is the best. It is a cookie sandwhich (two moist cookie cakes) with cream ch icing in between. They roast their own beans there and the coffee is nice and fresh!

The writers workshop is sort of around the corner from sci-fi drive in if your walking down commisary lane. They have a couch and you can park your stroller right next to it, great cookies too. Also is MK there is a small snack place in Liberty Square area where you can get coffee, frozen cappucinos, fried dough, and my fav (soft serve vanilla with iced cappucino float) so good. They have a covered seating area where I took a break with my sleeping toddlers, I put my feet up and loved every minute of it. It is right across from the smoking area(sorry Im not more specific) There a billion places to relax quietly in the world showcase, that's where we headed when my kids fell asleep. Also in HS, when my kids were napping, I took a long slow stroll throught the streets of NY and really enjoyed seeing all the deatils, etc. I would have been unable to when the kids were awake for obvious reasons.

Ah...now I may be looking forward to their naps more than the parks;) These ideas are EXACTLY what I was hoping for. Thank you all S MUCH! It sounds DREAMY! Peace and quiet, good coffee, relaxation...ahh! And, when it's all over, we're still in WDW and have rested kids and caffeine laden parents.

THANK YOU ALL!

Kind of an odd place, but I have on a couple occasions gotten a coffee at Contemporary Grounds, and then went up to the 2nd floor and relaxed on all the big comfy couches they have. I may or may not be prone to taking naps there as well:lmao:

THANK YOU so much for this info. and an iced cappucino float!!! Sounds wonderful OMG - I am there...

I stumpled upon it. I left my guys in front of the Stunt Show then sat on a bench for a moment on the streets of NY (where the osborne lights are). Well, all of a sudden the landscaping band (mulsh something?) comes out of nowhere with this blarring music. I was practically running for cover! DS2 had just fallen asleep!! :rotfl2:

As I was walking down the Streets of NY (I think this is what it's called?) I spotted the Writer's Shop on the corner to the left. Before you make the turn towards Sci-fi Cafe. Funny thing is, we had lunch at the Sci-Fi and I didn't notice the Writer's Shop from that direction.

It's an adorable little shop. Many odds and ends to look at. Houseware, cookbooks, even some popular novels. I was really happy to find it! :)

The spot the other poster is referring to in MK is Sleep Hollow Refreshments. It's at the end of the bridge to Liberty Square from the main hub of the castle. It's also on my list this trip. I want to try the capucchino float.

Another yummy coffee drink is the Frozen Latte in Main St. Bakery in MK. I swear, it's better than a frappaccino! It's SO good!

I look forward to DS2's naps the whole vacation!! :rotfl:

All of these plus:
DTD there is McDonald's which has very good coffee now, Virgin mega store upstairs has a cafe and you can sit outside on an upper level deck.

I've tried many places in the parks....just can't recommend any of them. Their coffee is not to my liking. Cin, Cin

They're closing May 31st.

The best coffee, hand down, is in Morocco in Epcot. Head to the back of the counter service restaurant - there is a coffee bar there. You can even add alcohol for a truly relaxing coffee break!
