Relaxer?

i have it done. basically i havent seen my hair go awry. XD

it just relaxes ure curls.

does it like bring out your natural hair? becaue in florida where i live the humdiity is crazyy! it could be forty below and be humid! so idk if i even have curly or wavy hair!

Haha, I was totally going to mention this on all of your other hair threads!

A relaxer does just that, relaxes the curls. I had it done, didn't work.

I honestly wouldn't put any kind of chemicals in your hair. Nothing that is *supposed* to be permanent at least.

Like my hair is super kinky curly, but I still prefer to straighten it. But when I do decide to just leave it curly, I like that it's really curly.

Putting relaxers and chemical straighteners in your hair will just most likely make your hair frizzy, damaged, and half-wavy.

You should invest in a good quality flat iron, and maybe some de-frizz serum.

Personally, I wouldn't put any type of chemicals in my hair. My mom had a relaxer/perm thing done when she was younger, and one chemical went slightly awry. She had straight hair prior. After the chemicals it was massively curly, and is like that to this day.

Like Jenny said, invest in a great flat iron and some John Freida anti-frizz.

Perms are designed to make your hair really curly. Not forever and ever, but for a quite a while.

Me confused.

Hah, I have no idea. All I know is my mom had some chemical treatment to her hair and instead of coming out straight after it wore off, it stayed curly forever. That was due to a chemical going awry.

Basically, the same thing happened to my mom lol. She used to get a perm every so often and after a while it just stayed curly. She gel'd it everday and stuff.

the same thing sorta happened to me. my hair used to be wavy but after gelling it and blowdrying it to curl, it stayed.

Oh, okay. That doesn't sound like that's supposed to happen, lol.

Strangee.

I love the choice of either wearing my hair super curly, or like, pin straight and flat. I would not want my hair to be permanently straight, because then it's really hard to curl it.

Ditto. I was actually hoping and praying for curly hair after chemo, and I got my wish. I can straighten it, but it still looks good naturally. I have to say though, I look so cute with short, curly hair. My hair is still only about ear length, but it's cute.

Seriously, you do! I love how your hair is short.

There is no way I could pull it off, wish I could though.

I literally have the curliest hair ever and I have tried EVERYTHING.. from chemical straighteners to flat irons.. like everything.
Nothing worked.
so I just continue to flat iron it everyday. I use the "Chi" and it has been by far the best. It's super hot and expensive but its worth it.
also the silk drops from wal mart or any drug store works really well if your hair is dry and thick.. I wouldn't suggest it for thin greasy hair... it will only make it look more greasier.
:)
