I just got a letter. They didn't lift my restricted rehire.

I hope the rest of Spring 09 enjoys their program :)

Have a magical time.

because I got hurt last time I did the program and had to leave early....

Hmmm that doesn't seem to make much sense. I participated in the Fall 06 Disney College Program. Around late October and Early November I was admitted to Celebration hospital and spent 10 days there! :scared: My parents came down and I ended up leaving the program early for medical reasons. Then in the spring of 2007 I applied to be a campus rep for fall 2007. The application processes was long and I had to write a ton of essays explaining why I left early and what not. I also had my manager contact the Disney College Program staff and she talked to them about me and my situation. So after that I was hired to be a campus rep in fall of 2007 and have been one since.
So I guess long story short, you should of been able to become rehired. I even know campus reps who were kicked out for drinking and other reasons and came back a year later. They just had to fill out a special sheet saying what they did and how they won't do it again.

I agree with you completely. I know tons of people who were termed or had to leave for medical reasons, and they were able to come back after a year or two, or after however long the restriction is for. I can only think that this particular situation may be different this time because of the over-supply of CP applicants. Maybe things are more stringent this time around?

That really worries me now, because I also have a restricted rehire status due to my not-squeaky clean record card.. I think.

if your are restricted due to record card, you have to show employment for a year with good attendance, and do all of the essay stuff and references from managers in your current position i think

Do they check your rehire status before they interview you? Because my recruiter said to me "before I start I need to check something" then she interviewed me.

I had a restricted rehire status because i had two reprimands when I left the program. I was just accepted for spring advantage 09. Basically what happens is they will be sending you some rehire paperwork through email. All you have to do is fill it out and fax it back to them. Its pretty simple just what is your last couple years work experience and why you want to come back to the program and the circumstances surrounding your restriction. Then your file goes before a committee and they decide whether or not to lift the status. Usually they talk to managers in your old area to see if they would support the restriction being lifted. All in all I heard back a week after I submitted the paperwork although it was quicker because my manager called and told them he supported rehiring me. Usually the only reason why you might be rejected is if your old managers dont approve to lift your status.

I haven't been contacted about filling out additional paper work.. =\ And do they talk to your GSM's or the Area Manager? All the GSM's I worked with would -hopefully- take me back, seeing as even though I may not have had a perfect record card, I always got the job done. I was a General Teller when needed and a Trainer too. But my area manager, I guess I rubbed her the wrong way. She refused to let me stay seasonal (and I at the time, I was staying in FL and going to school there) and apparently had nothing nice to say when I applied for PIs while I was there.

Am I screwed?

I really dont know who they talk to. I applied as soon as the e-presentation went up and then during my interview i was told I had a restricted rehire. I talked to a recuriter about it and she said I would get the paperwork but I could contact my manager myself and see what they had to say about the restriction so thats what i did. I was able to get the number of a manager in my old area and talk to him about it. he explained why i Had the restriction and actually called recruiting for me explaining that he supported lifting the restriction and rehiring me. I recieved the paperwork about 5 weeks after my interview and then recieved an answer a week after that.

Does anyone know, on average, how long it takes to lift the rehire restriction? I had to self-term from the '07 FA program for medical reasons (chronic tonsillitis...had to rush home and get my tonsils ripped out), but I loved the CP and would like to do the '09 FA program. Is two years enough time?

I had a crappy record card because I was sick all the time, but I started working at the Disney Store since they were bought back by Disney. Does that count as "working for" Disney? I mean, could Disney say they don't want to rehire me even though they technically already have?

You definitely have already been hired by Disney - I would imagine it as an internal transfer now instead.

And yeah, you can't be statused at the Disney store and the parks at the same time.
