Rejected Offers Thread

Yes, exactly. I'm in a "it would be nice to get more VGF points" place right now, so we can have more nights in a 2 BR instead of 1 BR or studio, but they meet our needs just fine.

At the same time between DVC purchases and Disney Cruises, and spending in the parks, there's only so many $$$s to go around! So, I'm only making offers right when a new listing is posted, and making offers on the lower end.

SSR, GrumpyInPhilly, 130 pts., offered $70 pp, listed $89 pp, 9/1, no counter
SSR, GrumpyInPhilly, 150 pts., offered $75 pp, listed $113 pp, 9/7, no counter
SSR, GrumpyInPhilly, 200 pts., offered $80 pp, listed $115 pp, 9/14, no counter
SSR, GrumpyInPhilly, 160 pts., offered $80 pp, listed $115 pp, 9/17, counter @ $113
SSR, GrumpyInPhilly, 210 pts., offered $80 pp, listed $120 pp, 9/18, no counter

My offers were based on whether there were banked points or not and how many.

PVB, HyperspaceMountainPilot, 160 pts, offered $118 pp, listed $145, no counter, invited to resubmit higher.

I’m not sure if I’m allow to discuss stripped/banked status, but will update if permitted.

Invited to resubmit a higher offer 🤣

“I invite you to negotiate against yourself….”
Lol, yeah, I’ve rolled my eyes at it in the past…but honestly, given what I offered for PVB, I wasn’t as offended by this particular time. I understood it to be saying “we’re not interested in the $120s but you can probably get it for a bit less than $145” —I don’t think I can even spend $135 per point without jeopardizing my marriage, so I’m letting it go. 🤣

I rented out some banked VGC points that came with a contract we purchased earlier in the year for $5k-ish and my wife was thrilled to see money coming back the other direction.

I can’t wait to show my husband the MB check for $3300 and be like “look honey; we’re making money from DVC!” 😛
$5k-ish is a lot of money (and presumably a lot of points), nice work!
We have a 6 days at Christmas in a 1bed at BCV (that we plan to use) but I also keep thinking “I bet we could get like $7k for this…”

Just wanted to say how helpful this thread is! It provides a different perspective from the accepted offers thread and together I think they give a better sense of where the market is. Thank you!

BWV, aceshigh73, 100pts, $105, $120, 10/23

Listed as $120 buyer pays 2023 dues
I Offered $105 seller pays 2023 dues

They countered with 109 buyer pays 2023
I countered with $110 seller pays.

Stalemate over $850. We both moved on...

I’m surprised that any sellers are still expecting buyers to pay 23 dues… did it have double 23 points or something?

cfabar1 - 200 pts, Listed $60 pp, offered $48 plus owner pays 2024 MF, 10/26

December use year. Points were drained for 2023.

Honestly it is tough to make VB math work even if they give the thing away given the ease of 11 month availability and the extremely high (and probably rising) annual dues.

I'm told another person made an offer. I'm happy for them. We love VB, but are likely to pursue more VGF points.

Phew...I am finally able to update this! Thanks for your patience!!!

Haha I'm at the same point with this same exact contract...I mean it HAS to be the same one right? lol
I also thought 105 and no dues would've taken it. Honestly it's a great deal if either of us got it for that but it's not exactly horrible for the seller either. Tell you the truth $100 and paying the dues probably would be a decent compromise but I've moved on as well.

Not quite sure. I had let it sit for about 6 days and emailed the agent with a slightly higher offer and he replied that the seller accepted $118 pt. and now it’s delisted.
Unsure if it was $118 + dues or $118 with dues. $118 plus dues is high.
I was at $110 no dues and then Upped to adding $250 for dues.

I have a feeling it was the same because I started with this contract about two weeks ago and I got the 109 offer about a week ago. The 109 is what stands out. Same contract size. I’ve been actively offering on BWs so not remembering any others that would fit but who knows. I just found it funny that someone else was having the same negotiations as I was with the same thought process. He took a long time to respond between offers if it’s the same guy. Kinda crazy if he got the 118 plus dues but good for him. Im seeing the market coming right down to that 110 mark asking so 105 or 100 doesn’t seem out of the question.

SSR, GrumpyInPhilly, 210 pts., offered $75 pp, listed $98 pp, 9/29, no counter
SSR, GrumpyInPhilly, 150 pts., offered $80 pp, listed $107 pp, 11/2, counter @ 97
SSR, GrumpyInPhilly, 150 pts., offered $80 pp, listed $107 pp, 11/2, counter @ $97
SSR, GrumpyInPhilly, 200 pts., offered $80 pp, listed $108 pp, 11/3, counter @ $110

My offers were based on whether there were banked points or not or how stripped.
