Ok guys, can anyone give me any info on what happens at the wedding rehearsal, how long it takes, who needs to attend etc? I'm getting married on a Monday so will the rehearsal take place Sunday night? I also wanted to know if a rehearsal dinner was usually before or after the ceremony rehearsal?

Oh, and can anyone recommend somewhere good to eat afterwards?

I'm glad you ask..I was thinking the same thing. and also if the officiant attends do you pay them an additional fee.

Check with your officiant on this one.. mine said it was an extra 100 dollars to have him at the rehearsal!! We aren't sure if we want him there yet but are thinking it may be quite necessary!!

I would think you'd want the officiant at the rehearsal, since s/he runs the entire show. Ours didn't charge us anything extra, but then we brought him with us from California, so he was kinda our hostage! :rotfl:

It doesn't take very long - maybe 15 minutes or half an hour? You do a quick run-through of who walks and when so that everyone knows where to stand and when it's their turn to go.

We got married on a Monday, and our rehearsal was Sunday morning (cuz it had to be before Epcot opened - if yours is at one of the resorts, you can do it later). The rehearsal dinner usually takes place after the rehearsal. We had a rehearsal breakfast since it was early in the morning.

There are TONS of threads about where to hold a rehearsal dinner - just do a search for "rehearsal dinner" or "welcome party". :thumbsup2

I vote to have your rehearsal at Ohana's! A lot of the girls on here do. The food is great and so is the atmosphere. You can have your rehearsal dinner before or after..which ever works better for you.

180 days!
And I suggest you do it at 180 days out! With such a big party some of them are pretty hard to get into! Esp. If you do O'hana's. We ended up at Whispering Canyon because O'hana's was booked. But both are great choices!

I second Ohana's I ate there last week during my site visit trip because of the great feedback from the boards and that's where I am doing it. Our server gave me the number for group dining and explained how they handle large parties.

Did you book your officiant yet?

Our wedding is on a Monday morning and we will also do a Sunday morning rehearsal like lurkyloo did. We are then taking everyone out for breakfast at the Cape May Cafe. At the rehearsal we are having our attendants, our ring bearer, our dads and the officient. We are having the same at our breakfast but adding any immediate family (DF's sister and her family) and our attendants husbands or wives. We are having 20 people at our breakfast.

You cannot book your rehearsal until 30 days out but you should really book your meal 180 days out. I booked our breakfast for 10:30 and told our planner this. She said should would book our rehearsal for 9:00 or 9:30 and our rehearsal will be at The Boardwalk and our breakfast is at the Yacht and Beach Club so they are very close and we can walk to breakfast.
