Rehearsal Dinner

Thanks Malibelle....

on a side note, did you work at disney?? cp or anything?

No, I wish I worked at Disney.

The DDE card you can purchse if you have a annual pass to get 20% discount on most sit down restaurants including alcohol.

I was going to say - on our Farewell Dinner we just basicly sent out the Menu in our itenerary telling people they were invited to join us at a Clam Bake (at Cape May) - the Menu listed the price....and everyone paid there own. I assumed they would get the hint

can you get this once you cash in your dftw ap vouchers? how much does it cost? that's a better discount than a cm gets...

We had our welcome dinner at Ariel's. I chose a menu of caesar salad, garlic bread and rolls, and two pasta stations - penne pasta with sun dried tomato pesto and mushroom ravioli with marinara sauce. We also had a groom's cake. I was blown away by how gorgeous the buffet was. Definitely the nicest one I have ever been to. All the guests raved about it.

Thanks for posting this - I'll let my mother-in-law know. It sounds great!

Actually, its the same discount that CMs get, except I don't think alcohol is included in the CM's discount. But is it like the CM discount where they automatically take 18% gratuity, so you really only save 2%?

WOW, they didn't add the gratuity when i was there...interesting...

Last summer, when I was a CP they were doing it, but I don't know when it started. But it really sucks cause even if you get crappy service, they still get an 18% tip. And they know it, so we always had to wait til they brought the bill to tell them we were CMs so that they had to print a new bill and we still got proper disney service.

Yeah, I was there for the fall advantage 06 cp and the automatic gratuity was added then. My gf brought her son and we had breakfast at chef mickeys and it was horrible service (I've never had bad service there any other time!). The table was dirty and sticky and I even got syrup on my pants. They did a lame wipe down of the table. We never got refils on beverages. It was a shame.

The DDE card doesn't automatically add gratuity like the restaurants do for CMs. We've had a card for about 3 years now and love it! Now they are chargining a lot more for a 2nd card, which stinks, but it has saved us a ton of money!

I was just down in Disney for a site tour and we also asked the question about good places to have a rehearsal dinner. My mother-in-law is trying to decide between 3 options:

Our first option is to have a relaxed beach party buffet outside on the beach of the Beach Club resort.

The second option is a buffet at Ariel's which looks really nice.

The third option is the Italian restaurant in Epcot and she would select a few of the entrees from the main menu for the guests to choose from.

I'm not sure which one she likes best but they all sound nice for anyone!

How much was it for the buffet outside the Beach Club resort?
