So we were originally planning on having a rehearsal dinner/welcome party at an outside restaurant. Something casual and laid back, pizza and beer. Well this past weekend when we were down we realized that the restaurant isn't really what we are looking for and now we are back to square one.
Any suggestions on a laid back informal party? We are getting married in December so we thought pizza out by the pool, but are worried that we are starting to have too many outside events. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you still looking for an outside place? DF & I went to this AWESOME place called Tu Tu Tango. http://www.cafetututango.com/

It's all different appetizers/tapas and you just order a bunch and share. There's live music and there's art EVERYWHERE.. Some even being done while you're there. All the art is also for sale btw. It's just a really cool place and the food is really good. I really wanted to have our rehearsal dinner there but DF is being difficult and says that it'll be too much of an inconvenience for people to bring them off property. :sad2:

Check it out if you can because it was such a fun place with a really cool vide and atmosphere. Very artsy.. but not stuffy at all!

We took our bridal party and family to the Biergarten the night before our wedding and it was AWESOME!!! Very laid back and so much fun!:thumbsup2

I have read that some brides will go to Publix supermarket and order sandwich platters, cheese or veggie and dip platters, chips, etc... And they set them up in a resort room.

We had our welcome party at Houlihan's which is on 192, not far from property. They have a big bar area that they reserved for us. We enjoyed it

Are you looking to stay on property or off?

The ESPN bar may be a good choice but could be too casual for what you're looking for. I really love Boatwright's at POR.

We are having a laid back affair at Ft. Wilderness. Ordering some pizza and camping out at picnic tables. :)

Ooh that sounds fun! I'll bet a laid back BBQ would be fun to host at FW as well!!
