Hello All!

I've been reading the boards for a while now and I have gotten a ton of great ideas for my wedding! We're sending in the contract tomorrow and I am extremely excited to finally have our date confirmed!

I've been trying to figure out the rehearsal dinner for the longest time now. I was wondering if anyone could give me any good ideas on where to have it? I was thinking California Grill or Fultons Crab House.. but I'm not sure. I want it to be a welcome dinner also, so I was hoping for something fun and different so that it will kick off our wedding weekend right!

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions!

we were looking at several restaurant options until our PS, where our planner threw out the idea of a 'rehearsal dessert party', and so voila! thats what we're doing!!! UK Lower at Epcot after the rehearsal ceremony. And its going to cost the same as a dinner would have! :)

That sounds brilliant - I love that idea. :)

We had ours at O'Hanas. It was a bit of a gamble, because neither of us had ever been there. But, I got so many people recommending it here on the boards, that I just went with it. It turned out great! It was very festive. They singer even had us get up and do a little pre-wedding dance with all the kiddies in the room. If you're looking for quiet-O'Hana's is not it. But, if you want something a little festive and fun, I recommend it! :goodvibes

We are actually having it the day after the wedding as a brunch at the Crystal Palace.

Seems odd I know...but we were planning on inviting around 80 people - wedding party plus all of their families and the restaurants we wanted for dinner were trying to book this as an event because the number of people so it ended up being too costly. The brunch at Crystal Palace is pretty reasonable.

We are paying for the enitre wedding ourselves so we were not going to do oe. Then my dad decided he wanted ot treat so we have one booked at Citricos.

I have always liked the Brown Derby. I think it would be fun, but then again you have to have a park ticket.

I would suggest Buffet/pre-fix menus. That way you know how much your meal is:thumbsup2

I would suggest Ohana's, that's what I'll be doing for mine. I went to try it went I went in August and it was great!

We got a really sucky seat though, it the back next to a walled up window being fixed.

From what I learned speaking to our waiter, they seat wedding parties in front of the fire pit at one of the larger tables.

We originally wanted ours to be at the brand new T-Rex restaurant in Downtown Disney. It is like Rainforest, only with Dinosaurs. We were there in June and the building was under construction. They had a rendering of what the restaurant will actually look like - so cool! We came home and called right away to book it, but they aren't taking any party reservations until late December. We're getting married in November so, it was a no go. We settled on Rainforest instead, which is owned by the same company. They have been excellent to work with so, I imagine the same will be true for the T-Rex staff. Not too expensive either!

We are having appetizers and cocktails at Rainforest and then taking a bus to Fantasmic for a dessert party.

We're having our rehearsal dinner which we have renamed "Welcome Dinner" at California grill and will time it so the guests can watch the fireworks..

We were very pleased with the catering menus our planner sent us for the California Grill: the menus looked delish. When we went for our planning session/family trip (both sets of parents + step parents went to meet each other), we dined at the CG and ordered some of the items which will be served at the Welcome Dinner. Everything of course was delicious!

We both think it will be an exceptional meal and an exceptionally memorable welcome dinner for the guests.

I had my welcome dinner at Raglan Road in a semi private area. It was a lot of fun. There are a lot of restaurants that have private/semi private areas for larger parties if you like. Some of them may require certain spending limits to get the room though. You can arrange these thru your wedding planner, or arrange it on your own.
