I'm trying to decided on the Rehearsal dinner location. I want it to be close to WP/GF since that's where the rehearsal will be, but what are my options at GF??

Can you do the Marina?

The place upstairs (the name isn't coming to be right now):scared1:?

Can I please see pictures and any other locations at GF that you had your rehersal dinner at? I'd like to also be able to watch the fireworks from MK during/after the dinner.:goodvibes

You can do the marina, you can also do Sago Cay Point. We were offered the WHR but I thought it was too fancy for a rehearsal dinner. You can also use Narcoose's and Citricos but other guests would be eating around those times. Are you looking to have a catered rehearsal dinner?

If you want to keep it casual and not too expensive, then I would do "Cinderella's Happily Ever After" Dinner Buffet at 1900 Park Fare but if you want something fancy, I would head to Citricos or Narcoossee's.

We were having the same dilemma but like most of our guests have or will be renting cars, we decided to do a casual joint that is not too expensive, outside of Disney. We chose Logan's Roadhouse, great food and price and it's only 5-10mins away. We also chose an outside restaurant so we would have an extra table service meal available (our whole family got the dining plan) and will be using it at the Spirit of Aloha Dinner show the day of the wedding (our reception ends at 4pm and the dinner show starts at 8pm).

Thanks!! Does anyone have pictures of a marina rehearsal dinner or Sago Cay? I'm not fimilar with Sago Cay, where is it? I'll be going to the open house this weekend so I would love to stop by and see Sago Cay. Thanks again!!!

How many people are you planning the rehersal dinner for and are you/someone paying the food costs for your guests? Are you looking to keep costs down?

We had a great 'rehersal' dinner at Kozzina's. The staff were so great and we all sat at this fanstastic big table. Not at the GF though but we took taxi's and DF's parents drove.

Both Citricos and Narcosses are higher end restaurants at the GF and would be good.

Boardwalk Bride had a catered dinner at Sago Cay I believe -check out her trippie

I think the marina would be awesome for a rehearsal dinner! I LOVE the marina and really wanted to use it for my wedding as the cocktail hour spot, but since our wedding is in June we have decided against it due to weather and heat.I can't remember if you are doing a DP the night of your wedding, but if not this is what we are doing as our rehearsal "dinner." The marina would work out great, you could serve drinks, appetizers, and desserts, and then watch wishes! Or you could just do a full dinner, that would be great too!

We haven't decided who will be paying but either DF and I or his mom(as she has not put any money towards the wedding yet-or better yet even offered too:headache:) So I'm not sure about that yet... We will have about 25 people including the spouses of the bridal party and a few family members involved in the wedding, etc. But not anyone else as it would mean all out of town guests to come it would be the whole guest list:scared1:

Thanks for the link I'm going to check it out right now...

That's exactly what I'm thinking, a few drinks (don't want anyone to have a hangover:lmao:) appetizers and fingerfood type things... I would love to do a full dinner at the marina is that possible?? I'm sure it would be cheaper if I just did a fun cocktail type 2-3 hour get together with drinks and a fingerfoods.

My wedding is also in June but I think people will servive for a few hours our by the water to have drinks and fingerfoods, etc. To watch wishes:banana:

DOES ANYONE HAVE PICTURES OF A REHEARSAL OR COCKTAIL TYPE THING AT THE MARINA AT GF??:goodvibes

We still are toying with the idea, the other reason we decided against it is because we have a F&B minimum at our reception location that we have to meet, so it will depend on how many guests end up coming, if we are going to go over it, we might still end up doing it in between the ceremony and reception. I think at night in June it will be fine. I would just do it around 8:00 so it has cooled off a little bit.

Here are some pictures of marina set up:

This is Sago Cay, I personally like the marina a lot better, it is pretty much right next to the Marina.

thanks so much for the pictures!! I'm really thinking about doing this location for our rehearsal dinner as we aren't doing a DP or welcome dinner (it's not in the budget) as of now... But that could change later

I'd love to do a DP type thing for the rehearsal dinner. It's what I have in mind.

Boardwalk Bride, Karen, used Sago Cay. She has pictures in her TR.

Yes I saw her TR, but it doesn't have areal shots of the area set up. Just the tables, etc.

I'll PM her and ask her about the area. THANKS!! :goodvibes

We had ours at the GF Summerhouse. We had a lunch though and had a BBQ buffet. It was alot of fun. I didn't think to take too many pics, but here's what I do have. We had hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, corn on the cob, baked beans and we had soda, beer and wine. It was worth it but in the long run, much more expensive than I would have thought

You could do a customized dessert party and add some appetizer(s) like a fajita bar that could keep the costs down but still feed folks and you get a bit of a party atmosphere to start things off. The dessert party comes with tea and coffee you could hopefully add some jugs of water/iced tea.

If your wedding is going to be in June you must plan for the possibility of being rained out. MY VR was is June and we had a DP that was supposed to be at the Marina and got moved to the Whitehall Room.

We had our RD at Citrico's which turned out fantastic. We didn't buy the restaurant out but had a big table and they did a wonderful job. We had a printed customized menu and selected a red and white wine which they poured with dinner. The service was excellent and everyone had a wonderful time!

That sounds like a great idea!! How much did it cost to have all of that done?? We were thinking about doing something like that as well as have the dessert party.

We paid $44 per person for the food and then the bar was whatever it is for the wedding, I forget what that is now. There was no location fee which was nice. You can make up your own menu too but we wanted the beach bbq deal because it was relaxed. We looked into Narcoose's but it was too fancy for what we wanted.

oh and we also got married in December :)

I would love to do Citrico's!!! That's the resturant I was thinking about upstairs in the GF!!! Do you have any pictures of what the table looked like, How many people did you have?? I would not need to rent out the entire restuarant I'd like to get a big table like you did!!:cool1: This would be a better option as I would love to be inside then be able to go after dinner to watch the fireworks somewhere. Please if you don't mind also posting the prices and maybe the menu and and other information you had regarding your RD. Thanks so much!! :goodvibes
