Rehearsal Dinner Ideas

I reached out to Big River Grille and after being promised information twice - when I was ready to plunk down my money immediately for 15 people - they failed to deliver at all. At which point I reached out to Garden Grove at the Swan and had a lovely experience. They were super easy to work with, the prices were cheaper than BRG, and it included characters which I thought would be fun for the lone 5 year old in our party. If you'd like any more details just let me know.

Hi! I'd love to hear more about how you organized your dinner -- did they have a private room for you? or space? Was it a plated dinner or a buffet? Thank you!!!

I reached out to the manager of Garden Grove - I believe through email first but maybe I called, it's been a year I'm blanking! - and arranged the reservations. The restaurant has a raised section in the middle under this awesome tree and when I went over a couple days before hand to drop off our timelines the manager asked where we wanted to sit and suggested that we sit under the tree and I loved that idea. It's generally pretty quiet in the restaurant and we had the upper area to ourselves - or close enough. The restaurant serves a soup/salad buffet followed by a choice of four entrees (chicken, salmon, beef or vegetarian) and a dessert buffet. The price varies slightly by the choice of the entree. They also instantly offered me the option of a custom cake and asked if I had any requests for decor or centerpieces. I was able to drop of our timelines on Saturday just before dinner prior to our Wednesday evening event. It was a great night visiting with family and the two characters kept the lone 5 year old entertained in a crowd of strangers.

If you have any more questions let me know and I'll do my best to answer!

ETA - and they sat the 15 of us at one long table in that upper area.

Thanks so much for the info! It sounds like it was a great experience working with them! I'll definitely check them out as an option! That's for sharing because I probably would have never thought of this location! I've never been to the Garden Grove -- do you have any pictures of the interior? The tree sounds sooo cool!

This is off the Disney world website image.pngWe were to the left of the tree in this picture. You can see behind the columns is a lower area and that's where the buffet was.

Also look into Trails End at Fort Wilderness, its next to HDR as already mentioned for a unique experience. Its a buffet and where I had my reception. Its very outdoors and cabiny, but the food is good and they are super easy to work with.

You can ask to be down in the lower level, which is the bar area and be by yourself mostly.

That's a fun idea! Thanks!

Some other suggestions that I don't think anyone has mentioned yet:

~ Mickey's Backyard BBQ
~ A private catered event at The Attic
~Raglan Road

Just some more food for thought! ;)
