Of course not. He has been wrong but I think it can be demonstrated his track record is pretty decent. Is Al Lutz always right? Just curious on what he has been right on in the past about ride refurbs? Anyone know off hand?
Aladdin's Oasis was closed some days while we were there (the 8th to 13th of July) but other days was open for restroom and table use, and was also open for meet and greet once or twice, for a few hours. So the status on that seems to be all over the map. Never saw them serving food there, though.
Without having read anything anywhere, it's very clear Indy needs some serious work. The ball does not roll down, which is sad and confusing, makes that part of the ride kind of weird and nonsensical, and the projections of the cobwebs don't work at all any more (making that part of the ride really weird, you're just going down an almost entirely black part of track, with a single bright light pointed at you? that's supposed to be scary?) as it seems that the "mist generator" doesn't run at all. There are other minor glitches -- there's definitely some fire effects missing, and some other lighting effects that don't work -- and so it's absolutely missing some of the "magic".
Al is wrong at times, but he was totally 100% correct with all the details for the recent Matterhorn refurbishment... if he says Indy is going down for a long refurb, I'll believe
him... the ride clearly needs it.

Ain't it amazing how the imagineers designed those invisible shoulder/lap bars?
Perl, the thing is, we have had this debate already. Most of us around here are not Al Lutz fan boys but find what he writes sufficiently informed that we listen to what he says and use it for discussion. No one ever said he was correct 100% of the time. Even so, whenever the name Al Lutz comes up you throw out these little remarks. Why don't you start a thread on Al Lutz or something and we can hash out whatever needs to be hashed out and be done with it? Then in the future we can just link to that old thread. I understand you want to rag on Al and take some joy in anything he said which turned out to be wrong. But I find your steady drip of snide comments tiresome. Especially when I and others have already responded to those comments.Ain't it amazing how the imagineers designed those invisible shoulder/lap bars?
Disney has the schedules out to Sept 6th and so far, no Indy on the refub listI know that can still change and they can add it on at any time but there is hope at least! I know it needs it and all, but we missed Indy in the spring when it was down for chain replacement or something like that, it would be awful to miss it two times.
Don't know if this has already been posted but the Disneyland park hours and schedule calendar currently lists the refurbs through September 11. Had to use the multi day view to see the dates out through September 11. Here is what is shown for September 11 - -
DL
HM
Casey Jr.
Canal Boats
Big Thunder Petting Farm (listed twice?)
Space Mtn
Cafe Orleans
DCA
Muppet Vision 3D
O yes..
Please please someone make this a sticky!!!
Disney does not withhold information to tick off guests. I am sure they release it as soon as they have everything planned out. They would rather give information a little later than information that is incorrect.A CM, who works on Indy, posted on mouse wait on 8-4 that Indy will be shut down for refurb 9-3 to 12-8. If this is true, why isn't the website and automated phone message updated?! I'm really upset because this will be the first trip my daughter will be tall enough to ride. What the heck?!
