We are staying at Boardwalk inn in October for food and wine festival.
We are taking our 3 year old and one year old. My thought to do deluxe
was because of all the character meals I wanted to do. However, being we are staying at boardwalk we will be stopping by food and wine festival a lot. will the deluxe plan be too much food??

I think in your case it might be way to much food. With a 3 and 1 year old, I don't know if you would be doing many Signatures. This means you'd be eating 3 large meals a day (figure most take between an hour and 90 minutes) plus traveling all over the place just to get to the restaurants, plus F&W, it just doesn't leave a whole lot of time for anything else besides food. Personally, I think with the little ones, the basic dining plan (1TS, 1CS, 1Snack) will be more than enough.

I agree with this. Are your 3 and 1 year old going to want to hang for that many sit-down meals? I could barely get my kids to sit for one TS meal a day! To keep it balanced so that you can actually enjoy stuff other than food, I would go with the basic plan. We have young children and are planning to do that, too. One of them is too young to be on the dining plan, so we're planning lots of character buffets for our TS meals.

It would probably be a question of exactly how many character meals you plan to do. With 3 meal credits a night you're generally looking at three full sit down meals a day if you plan to do all character - CRT is the only 2 credit character meal (unless you're planning on dinner shows, they're also 2 credits). If you are looking for one character meal a day, plus have time to spend at the festival, the basic plan should be more than enough. However, you do only get one snack credit per person a night (except the 1 year old, who won't have any dining credits), don't know if you were planning on the 2 snack credits from the deluxe to use for the festival.

I think way too much food too....our kids were on the regular dining plan and seriously, even that is a lot of food for little ones. One character meal per day, or even every other day, and the rest of the trip you don't need it. We did use their extra TS credits and get several kids meals through room service last time and it was fun...we all ate off of them! This time we are doing the regular dining plan again, but they are now 6 and almost 5, so they will eat more.
