Regular Cell Phone to Smart Phone Question

I currently have a regular cell phone with AT&T. I have unlimited data and texting. If I buy a smart phone off Ebay and put my current sim card in it, would I lose my unlimited data and have to go on a different data plan?
I know AT&T no longer offers unlimited data.

I think you should be able to. When I got married a year ago my hubby and I went into AT&T to start a new plan. I was on my Dad's plan and they were able to move my unlimited data from that plan to my husband's new plan. So I would assume if they could do that for me they could do it for you.
