I'm trying to figure out if I should upgrade to a premium AP this year. What have you bought??? If you got the premium did you feel it was worth the extra $$$ What are the extras you used most??? Thanks for the input ;)

Unless you like going to the waterparks and DQ, its probably not worth it...I think you would have to visit about 3-4 times in order to break even (off the top of my head I thought it was like a $100 difference).

It is a $100 difference. My husband and I got PAPs this year, and we're over break even on them.

Here's a breakdown of what we've each used so far (including the discounts on admissions you get as regular AP holder):

Pleasure Island - $18 ($11 if you're a DDE holder, which we are) X4 = $44
DisneyQuest - $36 X2 = $72
Either water park - $38 X1 = $38
Total = $154

Plus we have one more trip on these passes which will at least include PI and possibly a water park.

So by the math if you plan to do at least one trip to PI, DQ, and a water park you are at $92 or $85 if you're a DDE holder. One more trip to any of them and you have broken even.

I will add that I don't think I would ever pay the regular admission to go to DQ. We only go because it's included on our passes.

We go to the Waterparks almost everyday even if just for a few hours to relax in the lazt river. So we do the PAPs.

During our Summer trips it's a must to have that option

The premium annual passes are working out well for us because we really enjoy going to the Comedy Warehouse & the Adventurer's Club at Pleasure Island. We stop into Disney Quest once in awhile & don't mind staying only an hour or so.

I think it depends on the length of your trips, and what you like to do.

The first time we got the PAP, and we made good use of it. However last year we took 4-5 day trips, when we use to take 8 day trips (fewer). With the longer trip we would take the time to goto disney quest, a water park.

We might have broken even the first time we got the PAP, however on later visits, we determined it was more cost affective to just get the regular AP.

I remember the first time we did do the waterpark, and then over at disney quest. That one of the cm's said if you brought those receipts in, you could use them to upgrade to the PAP. Like the cost for the water parks 1 day, and then you did disney quest. Then you decided to upgrade, they would let you apply those dollars to the price of the PAP. Now that happened like 7-8 years ago, so whether that policy is still in place, or that CM was right/wrong don't know.

We get PAP's because we spend a lot of time in the water parks and DQ.

We like PAPs because of the flexibility of going to a Water Park for a few hours in the morning or the afternoon, stopping by Adventurer's Club, or DQ for an hour or two ,etc. Haven't renewed for our upcoming trip though, until we decide whether we're going for one more long trip within the next year.
