Regrets!

I don't really do regrets BUT I'm currently really p'd off I didn't do all the modernising work to our house when we moved in 8 years ago (I had builders overload from the previous property) as it's in a dire state now and I'm sooo bored of living here...

I'm glad I didn't chuck DH out the house when he told me he had to be away on my birthday as he gave me my beeootiful new engagement ring two days later...

regret: not axing my inlaws sooner. We broke off all contact between us about 3 years ago (DH still has contact with them), should have done it a lot sooner!

glad I didn't do: have children.

Definitely agree with that one !!

One slight regret............ that I didn't have my children when I was younger.
I feel like an old Mum !!

I regret not buying the house next door five years ago, it would have stretched us a bit at the time but now we'd have two houses paid off and a tasty pension! Meaning more trips to WDW. DH wouldn't have to be a city bank slave for much longer and I wouldn't be and IT widow!

Glad I didn't have my children earlier, I had a great time in my twenties and managed to travel a lot and work in quite a few countries abroad, sadly not WDW though.

Sure, some curve balls come along and they tend to come in 3's but:

I am healthy ( mostly), have a roof over my head, people around me that I love, fresh clean water and food. AND when I watch the news and see starving folks I feel grateful for living the life I have.

I am healthy ( mostly), have a roof over my head, people around me that I love, fresh clean water and food. AND when I watch the news and see starving folks I feel grateful for living the life I have.

I know, I felt bad after I posted what I did, it sounded so money driven, I guess now I have children I want nice experiences for them and a secure future so we can devote a lot of time to having fun with them and any children they may be blessed with.
You are right we are also all healthy, we have a house nobody can take away, great schools to provide our children with a good start (the rest is up to them), a car that starts everyday and a full fridge.
Life hasn't always been like this for both sides of my family and as a single Mum in the 70's my Mum would have loved to take me to WDW - we don't realise how lucky we all are.

Don't feel bad, PoppyAnna! TBH my remarks came out sooo much more flippant than I'd intended after reading some of the more meaningful ones others had written - one of the hazards of posting I guess... And could I have been more mercenary-sounding with my comment about the new engagement ring!??
