Hi

Here is a bit of an odd question to throw out. My and Jac (wifey) we chatting and I said to her, what is the greatest regret you have? and what is the thing you are really glad you didnt do?

It can be anything.

Cheers

23 DAYS....... READ IT............23 DAYS ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Steve

biggest regrets - :scratchin : moving to where we live now :( :rolleyes1

Glad i didn't do - :scratchin i'm still thinking about this one as i normaly do what i want anyway & to hell with the out come. :woohoo:

My biggest regret is not appreciating what I've got at the time. Looking back life has seemed rosier in the past. I regret not moving house twenty years ago when a big mortgage was about £30,000! Can't think of a glad I didn't do thing!

biggest regret - not confronting my dad before he died (long story)

glad i didn't do - i very nearly moved to kent with a boyfriend who turned out to be a perpetual liar :headache: and i would have hated leaving my family

Sounds like a subject for one of our late-night phone calls.

And on that note, biggest regret - I haven't really got any.

Glad I didn't do - I'm forever glad I didn't phone Nat the other night and I let her phone me so it was her phone bill :rotfl2:

One of my biggest regrets is probably the way I handled a relationship that fell to bits in a few years ago.

Biggest regret ~ Not accepting the place I had at Uni in medicine. I love my career but would still dearly have loved to have been a psychiatrist.

Glad I did ~ Ending the relationship I had before meeting Tom. The guy was totally wrong for me but I was besotted with him. If I hadn't ended it then I would never have met the terrific man I am now with.

I only really regret the things i didn't do.

I've spent too long being unselfish and putting other peoples opinions and thoughts before my own.

lifes not a rehearsal.

Biggest regret - not realising that I could affect my A-level results by the amount of work I put in. (However I did meet my DH at polytechnic after failing to get the grades I needed for university so it wasn't all bad.)

I also regret not stretching ourselves financially when we bought our house 20 years ago. It was going to be a stepping stone to our ideal home but we're still living in it!

Glad I didn't stay put and insist DH moved to my home town when we got married - I love where we've ended up (even if the house could be bigger!)

Not too many regrets, because if (for example) I hadn't done stupid thing #1, I may not have been the same person I am now, so good thing #2 may not have happened (does that make sense? ) I do regret that I didn't give up smoking long long before I did.

I am REALLY glad I didn't buy the flat was thinking of buying - it is now a total wreck and I so much prefer the one we did get.

Biggest regret: Not keeping up with my piano lessons.

Thing I'm glad I didn't do: I nearly resat my A levels but then I wouldn't have gone to uni when I did and I wouldn't have met DH.

hi all

this is quite sombre (sp?) thanks for all responses. I hope whatever it was it turned out ok.

biggest regrets - :scratchin : not buying into DVC the first year we went

Glad i didn't - :scratchin give up on my marriage when things were not going so good :sad2:

Biggest regret - not doing more (travel/shows/gigs,etc) before having the kids, when we had the money to do it!

Glad i didn't - Fall out with my best friend when we went through a rough patch over a bloke 20 years ago - he's now her hubby and we've been best friends since we were 11 (I was 38 last week and she bought me crocs!), and despite the fact I live in North Yorks now and she's still in west cumbria, we text every day and are still very best friends!

Lynn
:thumbsup2

Biggest regret is also not buying into DVC when we first went

Glad I did it ~ left the UK and moved to Ireland 13 years ago, best thing we ever did.

biggest regret - turning down a place at manchester uni for a guy who turned out to be a jerk.

glad i did it - agreed to meet chris when he popped up on my msn screen, i never met anyone on the internet before,a nd look at us now!

I can't remember who is credited with this quote, but I think it's a good standard:

It's better to regret things you have done but wish you hadn't, than to regret not doing something you wish you had.

(or something like that!)

My biggest regret is not going with my 1st choice of Uni, I allowed myself to be sucked in with lies about the uni/course I went to by the senior lecturer.

I reckon I could have had a decent job by now if I went with my 1st choice.

We live & learn;)

My favourite is from Simon le Bon,
"never say, 'could have, would have or should have' and always mix your drinks"

I have a few regrets.

Biggest regret was not travelling the world before we had kids with dh. We spoke about it for a few years and I never had the bottle to leave home.

Another regret. I wish I passed my GCSE's I mean C and above. I was too busy talking, writing love letters to my dh (yep been together since I was 15) and passing notes around with my friends. If only I passed and knew I wanted to be a nurse I would not be wasting my time on NVQ's to get into Uni.

Glad I didnt:

I never went into the Royal Navy. Before my children I was a lovely size 10/12 and wanted to go into the Royal Navy to follow my dads foot steps. I wanted to be in the Royal Navy since I was 7. I met my dh and went for my Navy tests. I decided after sitting my test that I could not leave my boyfriend. My dad was not happy at the time, but he is thankful it has worked out between Bruce and I, because he thought I was throwing away a brilliant career and dream I had for years. I know that if I went into the Royal Navy we would not be together today and we wouldnt have three beautiful children together.
