Reglazing glasses while in Orlando

I have a pair of glasses that need new lenses. However, my optician is refusing to put new lenses in because the frame doesn't have a "CE" mark on them (the frame was bought in the US and it's a perfectly good quality and not exactly cheap frame).

So as we're in the US in a few weeks time, I'm hoping of reglazing them while we're there. Has anyone ever had to do this? If so, where did you go and how long did it take?

Never done it but I know costco have an optician. If you are a member here that is an option. Alternatively have you tried any of the online lines - my DH got his online last time but can't recall the company name.

Think one of the companies are called "wantglasses.com" I have never used them but DW has a friend that has used them in the past and be very satisfied

Found a place online that will do it here in the UK. I've used them before so gave them a call to ask what they stance was on non CE marked frames. They said it was silly rule, as long as it says that the frame is RX-able, it's ok. So I'm sending them off to them now.
Fingers crossed it all works out

(it's been a bit of a saga with the other optician)

My DH always gets his glasses from the opticians department at Walmart. The glasses only take a few days to come back, and if push comes to shove they will even ship them back to the UK for you
