Registering a Grand Gathering...

I think I read somewhere that you can register your Grand Gathering.
I'm not sure what that means. I know a GG is 8 or more people.
I did a quick seach but nothing came up...
Does anyone one know who you call or what perks you get?
Can you make ADRs earlier?

I found the GG to be a whole lot of nothing. BUT, I did give our GG number when I made our hotel reservations and dining reservations and it did help in making sure we were situated near each other. I called at 6 months and all of the GG events were already sold out for our week. Not sure how that happened??

I called 407-wdw-play to register and get the number. It takes a couple of days before you get your number.

It doesn't cost anything so it can't hurt I guess.

The GG events are nice but expensive. The one benefit I believe now which makes it stand apart is dining ressies. I believe GG can still book 180 days out.

I called 1-407-WDW-PLAY
They said to call 1-407-WDW-PLAN
And they said I had to call MS to register...

I remember trying to register with MS and they said I had to call the PLAY number. That's funny. Maybe they changed how it's done.

Called MS, got right through, got a GREAT CM...
Said he would take care of it all.
We can make ADR's at 180 day mark.
Being Christmas that alone makes it worth registering...

Really! Wow I'm calling MS back. A few weeks ago registered for that exact purpose to get the 180 ADR window, but they told me that the 180 day was for GG events only and not regular restaurant ADR's. For regular ADR"s we had the same 90 day as everyone else; which made the whole Grand Gathering thing truly a whole lotta nothin'.

I hope your right, cause I can see problems with me trying ressies for 11 of us.

Most likely the 180 day window is just for the 4 possible GG events, not all ADRs in general. 3 of the 4 GG events include meals (the Fireworks Cruise is just a snack).

Please post back if you find out otherwise.

I just called the dining line and they said it is NOT for regular ADR's.
Sorry... I specifically asked about it and was put on hold.
CM came back and said it was for ALL ADRs. It's NOT...Bummer...
