Regis and Kelly at MK

Even when they were taping the Christmas parade you can still get down the sidewalks on Main St. The sidewalk that takes you into the castle is closed off most of the time because of the shows. You can still take the outer sidewalk to get around the back of the castle.

Glad I was able to alleviate some stress :goodvibes

I agree with the other posters... Main Street will not be blocked off (because it isn't a parade).

You'll hardly notice they're there :goodvibes

And to those that don't like Regis, well... you're missing out (jmho). He is a wonderful, caring man (we've met him personally dozens of times) and he never gives off a star attitude. Joy...on the other, is another story :earboy2:

LOL, Really?! What is she like???

I like Regis, he seems like a genuinely good man. :goodvibes I'd love to meet him, but I'll settle for catching a glimpse of him in WDW!

Well, Joy seems to be the "high maintenance" type (smile) :goodvibes We just met her again a few weeks ago at the Hard Rock and she seemed a little better. But the times we've been around her at WDW, she more-or-less expected the star treatment. She travels with hoards of luggage and makes her presence known. Meanwhile, Regis is just so down to earth. While she was directing her personal concierge, my Hubby was standing next to Regis talking about sports. No body guards, no assistants.. just all by himself.

Actually, that's how we came to meet him the very first time (ages ago). He was taping in front of the MGM and he got separated from his crew (they wandered off and left him). Before too long, the general public began to notice him and started to swarm around him (they were all very nice, just a bit unsettling for Regis). He turned to my Hubby (who is 6'5" tall) and asked him if he could hide behind him. They've been friends ever since :)

Oh wow, what a neat story!! :goodvibes

Is Joy a celebrity only because she is married to Regis? I mean, she seems to be enjoying her status, but did she earn any of it on her own? LOL I'm just curious, I don't know much about her.

Joy was sort of in show business before she met Regis. She started out as Joey Bishop's secretary/admin assistant. and met Regis when he co-starred on the "Joey Bishop Show".

She's gone on to host her own shows (Haven, Lifestyles and some other show on Discovery that I can't remember the name of). Right now, she's working on some show about illnesses (can't grasp the idea behind this one). I remember she was born in Chicago.. because I was too :goodvibes

i read somewhere along the post that before regis and kelly taped in front of the hat at mgm studios. did regis and kelly come to disneyworld before? and are they taping in wdw because of the 50th celebration?

I cannot believe Regis and Kelly are going to be at Disneyworld when I'm there !!
First of all, where are you indicating which show you want tickets for?
On your return evelope, or just a piece of paper in your envelope to them?

Did Kelly mention during their announcement if she was taking her family?
I love Kelly, I think she is great !! Regis drives me crazy sometimes with his boring stories, especially when he cuts Kelly off during some of her stories !!
I wonder how bad security is on the rides for celebrities?

This will be very interesting to say the least !!!

Hun, does your hubby post here on the boards? For some reason I remember talking to a "Zurg" when I first started posting here. I hope you and I both get tickets!

Yes, they've been to WDW before. And yes, it's for the 50th celebration :flower:

I put a post it on the self addressed envelope.

I actually enjoy the show. My reaction is because we are shelling out a lot of money for Disney, I planned and planned and didn't want to deal with high capacity crowds. If it is indeed as you say, it won't be bad. There just seems to be one thing after another jumping in "my week" at Disney, including a space launch (which my parents want to go to).

I just keep redoing my "schedule" and want to stop!

We had originally planned to go to WDW during May 5th, but re-scheduled for a week later to avoid those crowds ! But, now there seems to be other things that are invading our plans, too. But, you know what? Once, we are at Disney, who cares. Because.......WE WILL BE AT DISNEY :cool1: :cool1:

The Space Launch is sheduled the same day we are to leave on our Disney
Cruise, now I think that will be so cool to see !!!

:flower: See you all next month !!! :flower:

I totally understand :goodvibes And, just to be fair, the people who are lucky enough to get tickets to the LIVE show/taping are spending a lot of money too. Unless they're coming in from the immediate surrounding area, they face the same expenditures as the other vacationers do.

Perhaps you can think of it this way. The event will be in a physical space (let's say, in front of the castle). Well, there is only *so much* physical space available. Trees, shrubbery, railings, buildings, etc. limit the actual amount of space that will be available for an audience. So, it's not like an event that is held in a very open area.. where the crowd continues to increase in size as long as there is ground to stand on. And one thing Disney does extremely well is queue people-in-waiting :goodvibes

I think everything will be fine ~ and an hour goes by quite fast.. especially at Disney! :goodvibes
