Are there foods that can only be found in your area that you love?

---------

MMM. My dad just brought home some Black and White Cookies. Yummo! They originated in NY, and my dad brings them home from work sometimes.
Whoopie pies are pretty good too.

SWEET TEA!!!!

And cornbread. TN and the surrounding area makes some amazing cornbread.

Lol Hunter, I've never had sweet tea! Is it like lemon iced tea just more sugary? I love me some cornbread though!

Coffee ice cream and coffee milk.

It sounds SO WEIRD and gross, but it's actually pretty good. RI is famous for its coffee ice cream. You can only get it here!

we have coffee ice cream 0_0

Apparantly you guys dont have poutine.

MAN. Are you missing out.

We have chili spaghetti! It's good. We also have this ice cream brand Graeter's and it is SO FREAKIN GOOD! Oprah said you haven't had ice cream until you've had Graeter's! It's so so good.

You've got to have sweet tea. I love it. Our McDonalds and Wendys have sweet tea now. I used to get it from Wendys when we would drive to Florida so it was a special thing.

And yea, it's like regular iced tea with more sugar.

OMG Sonya are you serious? You gotta come down South sometime. Man, I dont know how to describe it. Its not naturally lemony, but some people add lemon to it.

It's like....crack. Yes. Crack is a good way to describe it. One little taste of good quality sweet tea and you're addicted.

^I want that as a tag .

Anyway, I dont really like Wendy's sweet tea, but MCDonalds is good. Not the best, but its better than most places.

I'm dead serious. I see the commercial for McDonald's all the time, but I'm too scared to try it cause I have really sensitive teeth.

Cuban Food.
I'm about 45 minutes away from Miami and about an hour or so from Little Havana.
So we have LOTS of cubans in my area, and the restaurants they've opened serve delicious cuban food. Yum!

LaSpada Subs are amazing too. I dont know if they are located anywhere else..:confused3

You have to try it. You have to. Don't go another week without it.

Don't be scared! I have sensitive teeth too and it's fine for me. McDonald's is good but it's not the best sweet tea I've had. I think Wendy's is better because it tastes more like real iced tea.

I will only drink Nestea lol, I like my fake iced tea. Real iced tea, made with like real tea is so gross lol, it's too bitter. So I'm assuming I won't like sweet tea either.

poutine-Ashton.216134313_std.jpg

Oh so obvious poutine. It's not regional to here, it's regional to Canada, but oh my god.. YUM.

n640305222_4488191_8926.jpg

Garlic fingers. Pretty much exclusive to Atlantic Canada. It's like pizza dough, with garlic butter and cheese. Kind like cheese bread sticks, but BETTER. I like the ones from Greco. MMMM.

donair.jpg

Donair.. it's like pita bread with donair meat, cheese (and tomatoes I guess we never have that on it). I don't personally like them, but donair meat is to die for.

Tamales......really any kind of mexican food. Homeade tortillas which are the BOMB(!) and machaca, ect. Specialty salsas, ect. Now that I think about it there is alot of good and interesting salsas! Its no On the Border, ect.

MAN. Are you missing out.

I LOVE POUTINE! There's a few places around here that serve it. Mind you, I'm only two hours from the border.

As for my regional delicacies:

Moose Meat. So good.
Venison/Venison Jerky. Not something I eat (the jerky anyway), but just about everyone up here does.
Maine Lobster. I don't eat it, but people pay biiiiig bucks for Maine lobster elsewhere, so it must be good.
Cape Cod Clam Chowdah. Yeah. This stuff is known around the world.
Seafood Newburg. Try it. It's actually very delish.
Maple Syrup. There is nothing better than 100% pure made-in-NH maple syrup (except maybe 100% pure made-in-Canada maple syrup. Maybe).
Maple Sugar Candy. This seems to be all around northern NE and Canada, but I've hardly ever seen it elsewhere.
The "Regular" Coffee. Two creams. One sugar. TYVM.
Krispy Kremes. Mmmmmm. Nothing more need be said.
Dunkin' Donuts. You have Massachusettes to thank for this!
and finally

Ben and Jerry's. Thank you, Vermont.

We have coffee ice cream. I think that's sold everywhere. It's one of my favorite flavors.

But everyone here FLIPS for Taylor Ham Egg & Cheese sandwiches. It's a Jersey thing.
Taylor ham is specially cured or something.
But I don't like ham, eggs OR cheese, so they're not my thing. People freak out when I say I don't like it.
