I booked 3-2 bedroom units for 6 couples at BWV for Oct 3 - 10, 2004. We really want an OKW Grand Villa + a 2 bedroom + a studio. I will call on March 10 but am wondering if there is any chance at a Grand Villa at the 7 month window. Anyone have experience? Also, will the rainy season be about over by then, I hope???

With OKW having 27 GV's and kids in school, I think you will have an excellent chance of getting a GV.::yes::

Since the Food & Wine Festival will still be a few days away, your chances are probably good. I think the rainy season is over at that time also. Good luck; you will fall in love with the Grand Villa at OKW!

Actually, the 2004 Epcot Food & Wine Festival will begin on October 1 and run for 45 days. In fact, that would be an advantage of keeping the BWV reservations. The easy access from BWV and BCV to the International Gateway at Epcot is especially nice during the Food & Wine Festival.

Thanks, All! I guess we can't lose. We will love the BWV location for F & W, but can't afford a BWV Grand Villa + 2 other rooms. So we were hoping for a much cheaper OKW Grand Villa. We almost always bring friends with us, but this will be our first time with all of our 3 grown nieces and their SOs + my 2 sisters + 1 brother and spouse, and a GV seems to be such a great gathering place. In any case, we hope for not too much rain!

The weather question is a little tricky. Basically, the weather in October is usually quite beautiful. The "every day" rain is gone and the temps and humidity are moderating. But, like January blizzards in Minnesota, Florida has a probablity of hurricanes in October. Rain will be a problem if you are there for a hurricane. ;)

But, it's really not worth worrying about this far in advance. Like snow, if it happens it happens. And the day after a hurricane is usually spectacular.

I have to agree with you on the fun in a GV with a large close group! We will be in a GV at OKW the third week of October. Looking forward to lots of fun with our "grand gathering" and the F&W festival! Good luck on getting your GV too!

What a great treat for your family. Good Luck with the OKW GV. That is quite ways out for us, but we hope to be able to do it in maybe 3 - 4 years and invite extended family.

Don't worry jekjones1558 and diane, I will keep the cold weather here in Minnesota while you guys go visit my friend the mouse next week.

HAVE FUN, but don't forget us poor Minnesotans that you are leaving behind. I will think of you both in Feb.
