Regarding EA and Credit Cards

Hi all. I rented a car for EA with my Credit Card but with my husbands info.. His EA card and License. I am the only one who holds major credit cards. Will this be a problem. I too have a EA account but he likes to do all the driving when on vacation. I dont see a problem considering that we are married. But you all have all the info. TIAinkbounc

The Minimum Advance Booking is 1 Hour(s).
Renter must present a major credit card in renter's name.
Renter must meet minimum age requirements, 25 years of age or older. In some states, this may be lower. Renter must also have a clean driving record.
Additional drivers fees may apply if you are not an Emerald Club member.
Debit and check cards not accepted at time of reservation or rental but, at participating locations within the United States, may be used for payment at time of return.


This came off of National's website. Also, if both of you are EA members, there should be no extra charge to add him as a driver so why not rent it under your name and make him an additional driver just to be on the safe side?

I have a friend who ran into a problem last year. The EA card is in her husband's name and she made the reservation in his name, he was driving the car. The credit card on his EC profile had expired and he did not have the new one with him. She offered her card, they would not accept it. They ended up having to park the car and go into the counter to straighten it out.
