HI,
So We've been thinking of doing our rehearsal dinner at Cali Grill. I saw their catering menus but with the number of people there would be(32) $90pp is a little steep. I was wondering if we would be able to take away an item, say dessert or the ravioli, to make the price cheaper. Has anyone whose had a reception or private event there been able to get them to adjust their menu that way? I hope so because it would be great to have a private event there but I'm trying to stick as close as possible to the room minimum. TIA:)

Short answer is yes. You can take courses away - you just can't change them.

So for example, we had the Sutter Creek menu modified: We deleted the appetizer and dessert and it brought the price to $65 pp.

However we could not have changed out the chicken on our menu for the grouper on the San Andreas menu no matter how much we were willing to pay.

However, you need to meet the room minimum regardless of the menu price...

We had 40 people and had no problem meeting the minimum, but we're drinkers :rotfl:

HTH :goodvibes

Thank,s not johannas eggs! We're drinkers too so that's why I want to leave room for the alcohol or we'll go way over the minimum. Even though we won't be parting since it the rehearsal everyone loves wine and I know its pricey there. This leads me to my next question... So do you order alcohol off the Cali Grill menu or would we go by the catering menus for open bar since it is a catering event. Thank you again:)

Happy to help!

There is a special "event" bar menu that can be found here

You can order off their regular menu too - like we pre-ordered 7 bottles of a specific type of sparkling wine for the toast that is on the main CG menu, but not on the event menu.

You can stick to the "house" brands of wine and they're not too bad - price or taste wise.

Thank you so much for that info, Joanna_eggs. We are seriously looking into a vow renewal, and are considering Cali Grill.

Enjoy whatever you do, Mickey, but please report back if you decide to go with Cali Grill!
