Regal Sun Resort review

We finished a 2 night stay at the Regal Sun Resort beside Downtown Disney. This hotel had a recent refurb. and I have to say it looks great! The room was spacious and the beds comfy. The pool area was very nice. Two pools and a spa that was super hot The pool with a waterfall had a kids' area to play with fountains shaped like animals. The folks here were all very helpful and this hotel was the closest to Downtown Disney (just a short walk across the road). I did think the food prices in the lobby were too high so we didn't eat here (and really why would you with the restaurants to go to at DTD). There is a 15 resort fee but no charge for parking and internet so I think that breaks it even. If you are looking for a nice hotel near DTD give this place a try

Thanks for the review! We are thinking about staying off-site to save money next winter, and the Regal Sun is on the short list. I'm glad to hear it was a nice place to stay.

Thanks- Did you get a standard room? Pool view? or Tower view? I'm a little worried b/c it sounds like if you get a standard room (which I have booked) then it's not very good. Please let me know- did you hear of any other guest complaints? Thanks

I stayed at this hotel in Nov and I loved it and hated it! We had booked for a pool view room but on check in they didn't have any and put us in a parking lot view room. Well that room was more like a motel and was small and dark, plus that night we didn't get any sleep because the walls were so thin there might as well not have been any walls. The people above and beside weren't being overly loud it was the hotel. Well after complaining the next morning they upgraded us to at tower room and what a difference! THe room was much bigger and quiet all night long. It was like being in a different hotel and we would never stay anywhere but the tower. The pool area was great especially the kid's play area in the water. Loved the pool side food and drinks and once we moved rooms it was great. However the night manager woman was AWFUL! When we checked in and didn't have the room we paid for she didn't seem to care at all and wouldn't do anything to help. Also when we checked out she was there and we got free resort fee but she still tried to charge us for parking 7 bucks a day. Parking is included in the resort fee so if we got a deal and didn't have to pay the resort fee then we don't have to pay for parking! Dispite the problems we had we are going back to Orlando in March and would like to stay there again, however only if we can get a good deal for the Tower room.
