I think I read somewhere that you have to "rent" the tubes to use on the lazy river. Is this true, and if so, how much are the rentals? Is it a daily use fee, or can you rent for the length of stay? Can you bring your own?

Sorry for so many ??'s. I am just having a hard time believing that a resort would build a lazy river to entice guests, and then charge them to use the tubes!

Hi, we stayed there in May. No tubes for rent or purchase. We got some at the store down the road. We also bought some at Wal-Mart about 3 miles away. ?'s let me know! Have fun, we loved it!! :)

When we were there in Jan '05 they had both tubes and rafts already in the pool for guests to use. I don't know if it was the accident with the boy who was found drowned underneath a raft in the orlando area in the past year or what, but this year, no rafts or tubes floating around. :scratchin
The paper we received when checking in said that pool equipment and towels were available at the front desk for no charge, however if you forgot to return them you were charged $75 per piece of equipment and $25 a towel. We just brought our own floats and they will blow them up for you with a little air compressor they have at the outside tiki bar.

Have a GREAT time! :goodvibes

Thanks! Can you give me an idea of the best route/ driving time to WDW and US?

Because we visit Disney in the off season, we never run into any heavy rt 192 traffic like some other posters talk about. We also leave early for the parks (opening time) and stay until late evening (sometimes closing time- remember off season means 7-8pm).

Basically your two routes from the Regal Palms to WDW is take a left from Sand Mine Road onto North 27 take a right onto rt 192 head straight to Disney exits, roughly 15-20 minute trip.

Or the second way you can go is to take a right from Sand Mine Road onto South 27 heading towards Davenport, there will be signs for Interstate 4, take the Northbound ramp and head towards WDW, travel the interstate until you see signs for the area of WDW you want to visit. Remember they are doing heavy construction work on Interstate 4 at the Rt. 192 interchange so it can get very busy. Going this route minus any construction delays takes about the same amount of time 15-20 minutes.
I perfer the N27 to 192 to Disney myself... :thumbsup2 HTH

We stayed at the Regal Palms in April 2005. They did not provide any tubes or floaties. Many people just left their pool toys for others to use. One kid just told us to put his tube in a certain spot when we were finished. The lazy river is very short. It takes about 2 minutes to float the whole thing. Don't get me wrong, it's a really nice pool, but it's pretty small. I thought it would be much bigger. It seems like all the other lazy rivers I've floated have taken about 15 minutes. Noddles would work well there.
