I have recently booked a quick last minute 21st birthday trip for my self :bday:(march 26th-31st).Today i received an email saying that room refurbishment's will be happening during my Visit. everything will still be open and running and that i should not be hearing any construction between dusk and 9:00am

Is this it guys? are the all stars FINALLY! getting the much needed refreb they need? are they going to be like the new updated pop century rooms? Let me know what you think and if you have gotten this recent email.

:)

Really happy that the All Stars are finally getting fixed up. It's long overdue. ::Begin Rant:: I do wish that they weren't going with the new style of Mickey and friends. I really really really (hope someone at Disney who has a say in the resorts is reading this) really do not like the new cartoon style. It feels very Ren and Stimpy, which is exactly what I don't want to associate with Mickey and friends. ::End Rant::

Yay, for an All Stars refurb though!
:tinker:Happy Birthday Megan Mojica!

Glad about the refurb, but like you, DW and I, also are not a fan of the designs of the new rooms and making them look so generic and sterile. When I first saw it, I said it looks like a hospital room with Disney photos on the wall. We also hate the pull down bed and losing the table:(

Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about the pull down...I think that would end up being an issue for us. I more meant that I don't like the new style of the cartoons themselves and the fact that they are putting that style of Mickey into the resort rooms. Of course, I think the new ride in Hollywood Studios is going to have the same style cartoon. :( They just don't have a pleasant vibe to me.

Yes! I agree I think the update is very well neddedb.but they are going more “standard” wich I don’t like. I wish they would keep it “Disney” tho THANK YOU!!!❤️❤️

Have you seen the new rooms at pop in person? We just got back from a trip in a new room and they are not like the pictures at all. I found them to be a lot less sterile than the pictures make them look. We absolutely loved the new rooms and they have soooo much storage. We have never stayed at the all stars before but we will be a lot more likely to now that this refurbishment is happening.

We are getting ready to book a stay from Oct 20-27 and my kids (they are adults) want me to book the ASMovies. We book 2 rooms. I wonder if we would get the refirbished rooms. I hope it will be done by then.

Can’t wait to see what they will look like... we are going mid-May... hoping they have some done by then. About how many rooms do they refurbish a week? We are booked preferred, hoping beg start with those.

Going by photos and our friends description, who stayed in one. Things they did not like:) They said they lost a place to park their stroller, without having to fold it up. Now stands the coffee maker/fridge cabinet. Not to mention, the chairs that they had to re-locate when opening the bed, which took up the space between the coffee cabinet and the dresser. They were not a fan of how the pull down stuck out farther then the other bed and clipped their shins on it a couple of times.
A main issue for our family is needing to fold the bed up to use the table. DW and I constantly use the table, 1st thing in the morning or at night after park, while the kids are in bed. It's fine if we are both up, but almost all the time we use it while the other one is in bed watching TV or sleeping. And working by the dresser would be very uncomfortable. We do like the new look bathroom area, the small tables next to bed with built in chargers and a shelf, so we do not dislike everything. Not all families use the room the same way, I read a lot of posts that once they pulled the bed down, never put it back up and are fine with that.

We were never in our room so we always left the bed down but I could see how it would be a problem if you needed to use the table. We walked past some rooms where people put their chairs outside lol

Yes, as much as I like the idea of queen sized beds, I am not a fan of the Murphy-bed-or-table situation. Wish they'd thought this through a bit more, maybe one queen and one double? These rooms are already small, and I think they now will feel much smaller. Love having a coffee pot, fridge, and sliding door for the vanity area, though!

We are going to WDW in late August, and I have to decide: Music or Movies? We love Music, but worry that the refurb will be there by the end of August and be disruptive. OTOH, I am not sure that I want to take a chance on Movies; what if the refurb isn't finished, or what if is and we get a refurb room? It's DD24 and I on the trip, so we'd really rather have 2 doubles than one queen/one Murphy. Anyone know when they anticipate being done at Movies? I know... roll the dice, take my chances!

Have they started the refurb at movies yet? The refurbishment at Pop is taking a really long time.
